We have had the great pleasure in partnering with RFQ - Richmond Fellowship Queensland (RFQ) to deliver a Motivational Interviewing (MI) Learning pathway. This course included both online and workshop-based learning for RFQs team of Recovery Support Workers. Through interactive workshops and reflective exercises, RFQs team of Recovery Support Workers developed key MI techniques such as open questions, affirmations, reflections, and summaries. They also explored the Collaborative Recovery Model (CRM), learning how to integrate MI processes to strengthen engagement, foster collaborative partnerships and move towards setting person-centred goals for change. We are also in the process of developing a Motivational Interviewing for Primary Healthcare Course and are looking for a partner organisation to pilot the new course. Today is the National Day of Recognition for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Practitioners. Today is a day to celebrate the achievements and evolution of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker and Health Practitioner workforce.⁠ ⁠ Within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community this workforce is renowned as a vital and reliable resource critical to improved health and wellbeing outcomes.
