She plays a crucial role in constructing and maintaining power infrastructure on-site, and she takes pride in working with the first electric excavator now operational at our Yandi iron ore mine in the Pilbara, Western Australia. “Everything in your home, school, or workplace originates from either a farm or a mine. My job is to assist BHP in sourcing the essential materials we all rely on while striving towards the decarbonisation of our sites.” Fun Fact: The electric cable for our electric excavator stretches an impressive 3 kilometers, with each drum weighing a hefty 3 tonnes. Samarco’s Fundão dam failure in 2015 was a tragedy. From the beginning, we made a commitment to do the right thing and support extensive reparation and compensation efforts.
