They are not ‘beneficiaries’ for being invited to the table, we must appreciate and respect their knowledge and leadership in this space. What can we learn from the structure of a firefly's lantern? An organic LED was developed by a team of researchers, and it produces 50% more light than conventional bulbs. The shape of a firefly's lantern served as their inspiration. The lanterns of the bugs have microstructures, which are asymmetrical tiny projections that emit light.
