How cute is this? We love seeing kids dare to dream about a career in quarries! Reggi, pictured here with one of our heavy vehicles, is part of the community living near our Montrose quarry which recently held a Family Open Day. Over 200 residents, employees and their families braved the heatwave to visit the quarry, learn about our site and history, and make lasting memories "Reggi had an awesome time!" said his dad, Tim. "He still talks about it.” A standout attraction was the Montrose History Room, which showcased an incredible collection of photos dating back to the 1950s, historical equipment, and memorabilia. The Boral team loved giving the community an inside look at our operations and the important role we play in the region. Matt McKenzie, Executive General Manager of Concrete and Quarries South, said, "A huge thank you to everyone who made the Montrose Family Open Day such a success. It was a great reminder of the connection we have across our team, but also in the community as well." Read more: https://lnkd.in/gVBF-xJK #BuildingSomethingGreat #Quarries #Community

Our Bulleen Concrete Plant has been supplying concrete to the North East Link (NEL) project in Melbourne, Victoria. The NEL is a mega infrastructure project, including the construction of 6.5km long tunnels to fix the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network. To meet the required date to supply, we’ve repurposed an existing concrete plant stored in NSW that has been used on two large projects, Barangaroo South and NorthConnex, both in Sydney. The plant was transported from Sydney to Melbourne in 33 loads over four weeks. Check out this video of the plant in operation and a dramatic footage of an intense storm that swept over the plant. 🌩️ #concrete #infrastructure #logistics #BuildingSomethingGreat

The Women in Quarrying initiative, a collaboration with The Institute of Quarrying Australia (IQA), has grown from a small gathering in Queensland in 2014 to a national movement encouraging women to build careers in the quarrying sector. The latest event in Victoria was a resounding success with a sell-out crowd of over 120 guests! Boral Quarries Victoria kicked off the day with insightful tours of our Montrose and Lysterfield sites, followed by a networking luncheon where Kathryn Czapnik, Boral’s Quarry Development Specialist, shared her extensive industry experience. "It was exciting to see how far the industry has come from those humble beginnings," said Duncan Harris, Boral General Manager of Victorian Quarries and IQA National President. A big thank you to Jake McClellan, Andrew Rankin, Lauren Trewin, Carl Millen, Jake Van Bergeijk, and Ramone Mishra for their efforts in creating informative site tours. 🙌 We also extend our gratitude to all our supporters, including Duncan Harris, James Collings, Kathryn Czapnik, and Nikki Orrock. 🔗 Read more about women at Boral: boral.com.au/women-boral

As we head towards International Women's Day, we reflect on our ongoing commitment to supporting women to enter our industry and grow meaningful careers. This is a year-round priority for Boral, and this week we'll be sharing initiatives from the past 12 months. Last year, our Deer Park Quarry team and Asphalt colleagues hosted 17 young women from Bacchus Marsh and Ballarat high schools for a STEM careers initiative by Geelong Manufacturing Council. The group toured our site and heard inspiring stories from Kathryn Czapnik and Natasha Vulin about their career journeys. Natasha said, "This was a fantastic way for Boral to connect with future talent in our local communities." Charles Vella added, "It was a pleasure to host the young people at our site. Well done to everyone on organising such a special day for the future generation." Thank you to Jason Gready, Melinda Farrell, and all our presenters and organising team for making this day possible. 🔗Read more about our programs for women: boral.com.au/women-boral #IWD2025 #WomenInSTEM #STEMCareers #BuildingSomethingGreat

We are pleased to announce that Boral has acquired the Sand Supplies quarries at Glen Forbes and Grantville, located 100km south-east of Melbourne. This strategic acquisition secures high-quality sand reserves for the next 18-22 years, significantly enhancing our supply chain for concrete and asphalt production. “The quarries will play an important role in providing essential construction materials to our vertically integrated operations, that are supplying the key infrastructure projects in the greater Melbourne area,” said Matt McKenzie, Boral Executive General Manager, Concrete & Quarries South. Our new sites are strategically located near existing transport infrastructure, reducing costs and ensuring efficient delivery of materials to market. Today, employees from Glen Forbes and Grantville attended a welcome lunch with Boral’s senior leaders as they transition into our business. This new chapter marks a significant step in our journey of Building Something Great. Read the full press release: https://lnkd.in/g58xZzpQ #BuildingSomethingGreat #Construction #Infrastructure
