Elizabeth Pike's recent news.com.au story highlights the powerful results of the Together Home program, an initiative we've championed at Bridge Housing. With an independent evaluation by the Centre for Social Impact UNSW (CSI), the findings underscore the program’s impact in supporting people out of homelessness and into safe, secure housing. Together Home’s success proves what’s possible when we invest in people-first, community-led solutions. To keep this momentum going, we’re advocating for uninterrupted government funding. Let’s ensure this life-changing program receive the support needed to make a difference. Read the evaluation here: https://lnkd.in/gBBhm2VU #HousingFirst #TogetherHome #SocialImpact #EndHomelessness
About us
We are a registered community housing provider and charity with a long history of delivering community housing in Sydney. We first began as SWISH, the South-West Inner Sydney Housing Cooperative, in 1984. Since then, we have joined with local community housing providers, officially becoming Bridge Housing in 2009. Today, we manage 3,600 properties across metropolitan Sydney, home to 5,300 people. Our purpose is to change lives through more homes and quality services. Working at the coalface of Sydney’s housing crisis, we know that a safe, secure, affordable home is the stable base that people need to do well. We take a long term view to running our business so that we can continue changing lives for generations to come and this means carefully considering the environmental and social impacts of our decisions.

We welcome last week's outlawing of no-grounds evictions in New South Wales. This reform strengthens the rights of 2.2 million renters', ensuring that people can remain in their homes without the fear of arbitrary eviction. CEO Laurie Leigh applauded the new legislation "At Bridge Housing, we believe this will create a fairer, more stable rental market, offering tenants the protection and peace of mind they deserve".

Constructed by Kane Constructions, designed by Johnson Pilton Walker and created in partnership with The King's Trust Australia, this project will provide 75 sustainable social homes and terrace houses in inner city Sydney. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, NSW Premier Chris Minns and NSW Minister for Housing Rose Jackson, joined His Majesty to view progress of works.
