At Evolve Housing, we’re proud to celebrate the diversity that makes us unique! For Global Multicultural Day, our team dressed in traditional attire and shared their talents in music, dance, and language. The highlight of the day was our wonderful Maria who performed Taualuta, a finale dance in Samoan culture which demonstrates unity, culture and her connection back to her village, while wearing traditional clothing, headpiece and nifooti (a sword). The festivities continued with a spread of delicious global dishes, from chicken biryani to pastizzi, Vietnamese salads, and sweet treats like baklava and rocky road. With 49% of our 144-strong team speaking languages other than English and practicing many different faiths, we’re committed to embracing and celebrating our vibrant community every day!

Sophie and Bernard (“Paddy”) attended the event to celebrate the opening, share their stories and tour their new SDA homes. This 30-apartment, mixed-tenure development will provide six SDA apartments, one dedicated overnight support worker accommodation, nine social dwellings, and 14 market apartments. Housing Australia provided $21.9 million Affordable Housing Bond Aggregator (AHBA) loan, along with support from Homes NSW and For Purpose Investment Partners to support construction, which begun in 2022. Construction of Pinaroo Apartments has been completed by Mono Constructions, beginning in 2022 and completed September 2024. I’m delighted that our landmark Moore Point ‘River City’ development proposal at Liverpool, has progressed through to the next step of the planning system, after we received notification that it will be placed on Public Exhibition. Moore Point is set-to become the ‘jewel in the crown’ for Sydney’s fast-growing south-west. Once approved, it can provide 11,000 apartments (2,500 Build-to-Rent), a school for 1,000 students, pedestrian bridge links across the Georges River to the Liverpool CBD, over 10-ha of open space and trees, 8km of riverfront walking and cycling paths and importantly, will create 23,000 new jobs. Through our strategic partnership with Evolve Housing, over 400 of the apartments will be quarantined as ‘affordable housing’. This means eligible health and allied care workers at nearby Liverpool Hospital, and other local employment precincts, will get the chance to secure a new apartment at below-market rent and won’t have to travel far to get to work. Moving on to Public Exhibition is a big step forward for the team at Coronation and our project partners, and, the good news is, contingent on planning approvals, we could have Coronation workers on-site at Moore Point by Q4 2025, with the first apartments delivered by Q3/Q4 2027. #Coronation #Moorebank #affordablehousing #propertydevelopment #housingsolutions #designexcellence #community
We're pleased to announce our landmark Moore Point ‘River City’ at Liverpool, has reached a significant milestone with confirmation that the plans will be placed on public exhibition. The 32-ha former industrial site is set to be transformed into a vibrant, master-planned community delivering 11,000 homes and creating 23,000 jobs, a new Public School for 1,000 students, pedestrian bridge links across the Georges River to the Liverpool CBD, over 10-ha of open space and trees and 8km of riverfront walking and cycling paths for the community. We will also dedicate 400 apartments in the development as ‘affordable housing’, to help eligible frontline and support health and allied care workers at the adjacent Liverpool Hospital, secure a home. Evolve Housing was delighted to host Board members and senior staff from Foundation Housing Ltd for a tour of our mixed-tenure Lidcombe Rise Development last week. It was a fantastic opportunity to share learnings of this exceptional large-scale project with our Western Australian colleagues, highlighting the innovative approach we’ve taken towards integrated housing models.
Thanks to our friends at Evolve Housing and SGCH in Sydney for hosting some of our Board members and senior staff at their offices, and at a variety of site visits this week. It’s been an inspiring couple of days to see first hand the collaboration and quality of work of some of the sector’s largest CHP’s. Spanning social, affordable, SDA and youth housing, the strategic focus on building sustainable homes and communities is highly evident, as is the commitment to sustaining tenancies. Wendy Hayhurst also provided a comprehensive update, which was invaluable to gain a deeper understanding of Community Housing Industry Association’s policy and advocacy focus. We hope we can return the favour to you all in Perth soon! Josephine Buontempo Janelle Marr FAICD FGIA GCB.D MBA Felicity Zimmermann Kerryn Edwards Jason Kirkby Jaynie Edwards

Evolve Housing is honoured to have attended the Housing Now! Conference hosted by Business Western Sydney, which united peak bodies across development, social housing, alliances and unions to collectively address the NSW housing crisis. In an insightful panel discussion, Premier Chris Minns, Planning Minister Paul Scully, Housing Minister Rose Jackson, and Treasurer Daniel Mookhey joined the conversation to discuss the critical housing challenges facing NSW and the solutions being pursued. They all emphasised the government’s commitment to tackling housing affordability through a collective effort across planning, development, and finance. Evolve Housing is committed to collaborating with government, industry leaders and developers to find innovative solutions to provide more homes for those most in need.

Last week, Evolve Housing attended the Australasian Housing Institute (AHI) Shifting the Dial to Prevent Homelessness event at Parliament House. We heard from distinguished speakers including Minister for Housing of NSW Rose Jackson MLC, CEO of Homes NSW Rebecca Pinkstone, CEO of Future Generation Caroline Gurney, CEO of Shelter NSW John Engeler, CEO of Older Women's Network NSW Yumi Lee, Director, Philanthropic Services of JB Were Jayde Ward, and Chief Executive Officer at Homelessness NSW Dom Rowe. The discussion focused on preventative measures to tackle the homelessness crisis and how not-for-profit organisations such as Evolve Housing and other Community Housing Providers, the Government, and Philanthropists can collaborate on innovative solutions to prevent homelessness and deliver more housing. With the increasing costs of housing, particularly rental unaffordability, everyday Australians are faced with the constant harsh reality of housing stress and potential homelessness. Evolve Housing looks forward to working with our partners to deliver more homes for those most in need.

Today, the Evolve Housing and EchoRealty teams enjoyed a delicious BBQ with residents and clients to stay connected and ask RUOK? RUOK? promotes suicide prevention through strengthening personal relationships and empowering informal support networks, like friends, family, and colleagues, to recognise signs of distress and engage in early conversations to connect individuals with necessary support before a crisis emerges. We were honoured to welcome Melissa Wu, a five-time Olympian who spoke to us about her life experiences, resilience and overcoming challenges. Despite facing injuries, personal setbacks, and the immense pressure that comes with competing on the world stage, Melissa consistently pushed forward, proving that success is as much about mental strength as physical skill. Her ability to overcome these challenges reflects her unwavering determination and serves as an inspiration for all of us to persevere through our own obstacles, no matter how big or small and that there is always help available no matter where you are. We all have a role to play in looking out for those we care about at home, work or in our community. A simple "are you OK?" could change a life. You don’t need to be an expert to ask, but we hope you remember that the best thing you can do is reach out for support. To our residents, if you need any kind of support, you can contact us by calling 1800 693 865 or by emailing myevolve@evolvehousing.com.au. We have a wonderful in-house support team made up of qualified support workers who will do their best to help you or point you in the direction of a service provider who can help.
