  • Earlier this month, Brisbane Powerhouse wrapped the third iteration of Night Feast, reaching new heights of success for the second annual creative culinary spectacular. We are proud to share that Night Feast 2024 welcomed a record 145,000 visitors to the Powerhouse Precinct for a celebration of the senses. 20 chefs and pop-up restaurants once again lined the Powerhouse Plaza and beyond, featuring 14 return favourites alongside seven exciting new additions. Night Feast 2024 saw The American Express Garden Lounge return, offering nearly 4,000 AMEX card members and their guests an exclusive, serene and stylish oasis. In partnership with Sapporo (Coopers Brewery), the Sapporo Izakaya “stay-drink-place” also returned in a new iteration - Sapporo Izakaya x Boom Boom Room. Pairing perfectly with the culinary delights of the Feast, attendees enjoyed nearly 17,000 Sapporo beers. Complementing the extraordinary culinary lineup was a rich program of free art, including a powerful large-scale photographic work commission from artist Dr Christian Thompson AO - supported by Tim and Gina Fairfax. Additionally, Filipino artist Leeroy New created two unmissable outdoor installations made from locally sourced recycled materials, with support from Reverse Garbage Queensland and Redland City Council. From art installations to dining utensils, Night Feast continued its commitment to sustainability, using only compostable or recyclable packaging and reusable glasses in pursuit of our Zero Landfill Project. Water stations provided by Urban Utilities diverted over 20,000+ single-use plastic bottles from landfill. We extend our gratitude to Brisbane City Council, presenting partner American Express, and the support of Sapporo, Optus, Ovolo Hotels, B105 (Southern Cross Austereo), and The Weekend Edition for helping us bring the Feast to life. • 🌴 5,500 diverse, bare bodies on the Story Bridge for Spencer Tunick. 🌈 50+ vessels voyaging together down the Brisbane River/Maiwar for River Pride Parade, alongside inaugural Melt Ambassador, Courtney Act. ✨ 120+ events across 70+ venues over three unforgettable weeks. Melt Festival 2024 transformed Brisbane/Magandjin into a Queer Paradise - a celebration of Queer art, culture, and community. Building on its predecessor, MELT, this year’s festival had nationwide reach, welcoming and unifying more artists, audiences, and voices than ever before. From opening with Tina – A Tropical Love Story by First Nations artist Ben Graetz, to Courtney Act and Dykes on Bikes Queensland touring Melt venues, to a dazzling finale with Hans’ Disco Spektakulär, Brisbane Powerhouse was at the heart of the celebration. Delivering a festival celebrating community on such a scale would not have been possible without the guidance of our Melt Reference Group and the unwavering support of Queensland Government, through Tourism and Events Queensland, and Brisbane City Council, through Brisbane Economic Development Agency. Thank you also to our partners American Express, Herbert Smith Freehills, QNews LGBTQIA+ News, Ovolo Hotels Fortitude Valley, PixelFrame, We Are Flip, as well as RiverCity Ferries, the Department of Transport and Main Roads and 4ZZZ Radio for supporting the magnificent River Pride Parade.
