It is immensely gratifying to see some of the world’s most influential media recognising the projects we’ve dedicated ourselves to over the past eight years. From Bloomberg to Dezeen, The Australian Financial Review, The Guardian, The Saturday Papers, Reuters, to Wallpaper* Magazine, all have offered resoundingly positive coverage of the City and Southwest Sydney Metro’s opening. Büro North are proud to have led the Customer-Centred Design (CCD) and Wayfinding for three of Sydney's newest Metro stations—Crows Nest, Martin Place, and Central Station which is Australia’s busiest transport hub. Our focus has been on placing the customer at the heart of these critical infrastructure projects, identifying user needs, guiding design implementation, and ensuring that the proposed solutions truly serve their users. Congratulations again to the thousands of people that moved these stations from ideas to completion, what a legacy for Sydney…. _________________________________ Project - Central Station, Sydney Metro Our Role - Customer Centred Design & Wayfinding Project Team - Laing O'Rourke, Woods Bagot, John McAslan + Partners, Aurecon + GHD Design, TTW, creativeRoad Project - Crows Nest, Sydney Metro Our Role - Customer Centred Design & Wayfinding Project Team - AW Edwards, SMEC, Woods Bagot, Robert Bird Group, NDY, OCULUS, Surfacedesign, Inc. Marking 10 years this week since the completion of our wayfinding project at Federation University, we are proud to see our design solution standing the test of time. As relevant and sophisticated today as it was in 2014, the system continues to seamlessly guide students and visitors across the university’s four diverse rural campuses. Our wayfinding was crafted to sit alongside varying architectural styles—ranging from Art Deco, Victorian and Brutalist to contemporary—ensuring visual cohesion throughout both rural and urban environments. Prioritising accessibility, intuitive navigation, and convenient access to learning spaces, our design remains integral to enhancing the campus experience a decade on. _________________________________ Project - Federation University Our Role - Wayfinding Standards Design _________________________________

For nearly a decade, Büro North has played a pivotal role in the Customer-Centred Design (CCD) and Wayfinding for three of Sydney's newest Metro stations—Crows Nest, Martin Place, and Central Station, Australia’s busiest transport hub. Our focus has been on placing the customer at the heart of these critical infrastructure projects. We've dedicated ourselves to identifying specific user needs, guiding design implementation, and ensuring that the proposed solutions truly serve their users. We are immensely proud of our contribution to these significant projects and even prouder of how they are transforming Sydney, improving the daily commute for millions. It has been an honor to collaborate with some of the country’s leading Architects, Engineers, and project teams, alongside TfNSW and Sydney Metro. From Soren Luckins, Brooke Murray, Christopher Thorpe and the entire Büro North team — Congratulations to our client, and the thousands of committed professionals who have worked tirelessly over the past decade to bring these stations to life.

Absolutely love this photo from Jo Haylen our Transport Minister, of Crows Nest Station Sydney Metro. Our Customer Centred Design (CCD) work on Crows Nest (and all transport infrastructure) prioritises universal design and accessibility to ensure that all users, including those with vision and mobility impairments, can navigate and utilize stations independently. Working collaboratively with Woods Bagot SMEC, NDY, Robert Bird Group and OCULUS as part of the ‘Crows Nest Design Consortium’ our CCD process focussed on creating an inclusive station to meet the diverse needs of all commuters, enhancing their experience and fostering a truly accessible public transport network.
Sydney's new Metro is guide dog tested, and guide dog approved 🦮

Last stop in Saudi Arabia. We are currently here for a week of client workshops. During our stay, we are taking the opportunity to explore, study, and immerse ourselves in local culture. Quite the surreal experience visiting the Maraya Concert Hall in Al-Ula, designed by Milan-based architects Giò Forma Studio. It’s a building that looks incredibly simple, but also takes a moment to process and understand. Maraya AlUla disappears into the landscape, nestled within utterly breathtaking scenery, as the largest mirrored building in the world. The venue serves as a cultural hub, hosting a regular program of events, exhibitions and concerts. A lot of buildings are said to reflect the culture of their environment, but this one really does it, capturing both the intense beauty of Al-Ula and the aspirations of future Saudi Arabia. — #buronorthstudytour #designstudio #experiencedesign #experiencevision #experiencestrategy #saudivision2030

We are currently in Saudi Arabia for a week of client workshops. During our stay, we are taking the opportunity to explore, study, and immerse ourselves in local culture. Yesterday we had an extremely hot (46°) but amazing visit to Mada’in Salih (Hegra), a remarkable archaeological site that served as the southern capital of the Nabataean kingdom. This ancient city is Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site and is renowned for its stunning rock-cut tombs and well-preserved inscriptions. Walking through Hegra is like stepping back in time, with each sandstone façade telling stories of the past civilisations and their craftsmanship. These sites are a magnificent blend of natural geological beauty, and social historical significance leaving us awe struck. #buronorthstudytour #designstudio #experiencedesign #experiencevision #experiencestrategy

We are currently in Saudi Arabia for a week of client workshops. During our stay we are taking the opportunity to explore, study and immerse ourselves in local culture. We had the pleasure of visiting Diriyah, a beautifully preserved site that was once the home of the Saudi royal family and the capital of the first Saudi dynasty in the 1700s. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Diriyah comes alive at night with stunning architecture, lighting, wayfinding and interpretation offering a blend of heritage, culture, retail, and dining experiences.

We are currently in Saudi Arabia for a week of client workshops. During our stay we are taking the opportunity to explore, study and immerse ourselves in local culture. Incredible to visit the King Abdullah Financial District Metro today, an architectural masterpiece by Zaha Hadid Architects. Riyadh's new metro will have 85 stations, aimed at reducing traffic congestion for one of the world's fastest-growing regions. After spending the last seven years working on various Sydney Metro projects, it's fascinating to see a different approach on the other side of the world. The futuristic design by Zaha Hadid feels incredibly optimistic and uplifting for a city with such an ambitious vision for its future.

We are currently in Saudi Arabia for a week of client workshops. During our stay we are taking the opportunity to explore, study and immerse ourselves in local culture. Today's site visit was to Jebel Fihrayn, part of the extensive Tuwaiq Escarpment. This area spans over 800 kilometers featuring a remarkable geological formation that overlooks an ancient ocean bed. Some of our work in the region is engaged in designing experiences for future tourism in Saudi Arabia. From the summit of this 1,000-foot escarpment, the expansive desert landscape below provided perspective that was both exhilarating, humbling and just a little terrifying.
