An exciting moment for our co-operative as the first of our new rollingstock arrives in Australia! Six prototype wagons arrived aboard the SE Kelly at Fremantle Port on Saturday 5 October, following a three-week journey from China. Since then, the prototypes have commenced in-country testing and are expected to be in service within the next week. The build of 200 standard-gauge and 450 narrow-gauge grain hopper wagons continues, with the next full batch of wagons expected to be delivered in December. The new wagons, along with new locomotives, will increase our supply chain capacity and help us to achieve our Path to 2033 Strategy.

CBH Group hosted the Federal Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries & Forestry, the Hon Julie Collins MP at our Kwinana Grain Terminal (KGT). A great opportunity to showcase the facility that exports a significant portion of the WA grain crop; promote the CBH co-operative and our ongoing investment in the WA grain export supply chain; and engage with the Minister in key policy areas. We turned on the weather too…

We’re thrilled to have won the Regional Export Award at the Western Australian Export Awards for the second year in a row! The Regional Export Award celebrates businesses with a head office or majority of operations based in regional WA, demonstrating excellence in export success. This recognition highlights our ongoing success in delivering Western Australian grain to the world and reflects the dedication of WA growers and our team across the entire supply chain. We’re now headed to the Australian Export Awards in November to compete at the national level. Congratulations to all other award winners, and thanks to Invest and Trade Western Australia for hosting a wonderful night! #ExportAwards Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade)

Our 2024 Grower Study Tour has come to an end after an unforgettable, action-packed week in Japan! We had the privilege of connecting about 40 Western Australian growers directly with key Japanese customers - to explore the heart of one of our most important markets. From udon noodles to shochu and canola oil, the Japanese market uses Western Australian grain for a variety of products. Growers had the unique opportunity to tour manufacturing facilities, gain insights into the Japanese market's specific requirements, and understand why our customers choose WA grain. A huge thank you to our incredible group of WA growers and our generous Japanese hosts for making this tour such a memorable experience.

Last Friday night we had the privilege of hosting a special Volunteer Sundowner and bringing our volunteers together to celebrate 60 fantastic years of Dowerin Machinery Field Days. It was also an honour to cut the ribbon and officially open the new hockey shed. This much-wanted facility is a welcome addition to our community, adding vibrancy to the area and supporting broader community wellbeing initiatives, which are vitally important in regional communities. Built by the leading steel frame construction company AUSPAN GROUP, the new hockey shed was made possible through the generous funding of the Dowerin Machinery Field Days, the support of our sponsor AUSPAN GROUP, and grants from the Shire of Dowerin and CBH Group. Additionally, the Hockey Club raised their contribution to the project through years of volunteering for the Field Days, and we are grateful to local heroes like Holberton Earthmoving and Harris Electrical Servicing for gifting their time. This hockey shed stands as a testament to the power of teamwork and collaboration, reminding us that we are all part of Team Wheatbelt. We’re excited about the positive impact this infrastructure will have on our community, both now and in the future. This isn’t just about a building—it’s about how the Field Days can create greater opportunities for WA's agricultural sector and the amazing people behind it. Thank you to everyone who made this possible.
