Our Plan of Management for Council Community Land (POM) is being updated to include newly acquired, identified or re-classified land lots, and the re-categorisation of some lots already in the plan, and we are seeking community feedback. How to participate 1. Attend a public hearing 📍 Wyong 14 Nov, 📍Wamberal 18 Nov, or 📍Gosford 21 November 2. Read the Draft POM Update Land Schedule and view the associated mapping and make a submission online during the public exhibition by 25 November. https://lnkd.in/gRfBkJ-F A POM categorises community land based on its characteristics and outlines how we will use and manage the land. Council owns around 2500 lots of community land which includes a wide variety of properties ranging from small recreation reserves to iconic parks, beaches, natural areas and community facilities such as sportsgrounds. In 2023, the Central Coast Council Plan of Management for Council Community Land was adopted and covered around 2,300 lots of community land. The proposed POM Update will focus on amending the Land Schedule by categorising 158 newly acquired land or reclassified land lots, and in response to community feedback is proposing to re-categorise 114 land lots that were already included in the POM. At Central Coast Council, our 2,000-strong workforce is committed to serving and engaging a diverse community across 1,681 square kilometres. As we navigate a time of significant change, the return of our Councillors brings fresh momentum to our vision for the future. We believe that strong, unified leadership is essential for shaping a positive organisational culture and deepening our connection with the community. To achieve this, we recognise the importance of having clear leadership principles that guide our people and drive success. To achieve this, we partnered with Leadership and DEI consultancy, Inkling Group, earlier this year to first co-design our Leadership Principles to guide the way we lead at Council. We also partnered with Inkling Group to co-design and deliver a bespoke Leadership Development program tailored to our unique context, expectations and address identified gaps. This program was designed to foster reflection and perspective taking, helping us closely examine how we ‘show up’ and improve the impact we make as leaders. Our top-down approach to our Leadership Development program began with our Executive Leadership team, followed by our Unit Managers, who are currently participating in the program. Next up, our Section Managers will begin the program in October. Watch this space as we continue building a “purposeful culture” to shape the future of Central Coast Council.

🚘 We are excited to have successfully secured $28.3million funding from the Australian and NSW Governments for the remediation works on Wisemans Ferry Road. 🚧 Repairs and betterment works are underway for more than 40 landslip sites on Wisemans Ferry Road in Spencer and Gunderman. 🌧️ Wisemans Ferry Road experienced widespread damage including embankments with landslides and rockfalls at multiple locations, after major flooding and storms in 2022. Since the time that emergency works were undertaken to reinstate road access and ensure safe use of the road, Council has continued to work on delivering solutions to get the road back to working order and to better withstand future natural disasters. These long-awaited works have been much anticipated by the community after many natural disasters and storm events impacted local roads and the day-to-day life of locals, as well as visitors to the area. Completion of the Wisemans Ferry Road project is anticipated in June 2026, weather depending. This project is jointly funded by the Australian and NSW government Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements through the Regional Roads and Transport Recovery Package. 👀 Read announcement here: https://hubs.la/Q02QyD2q0 👉For more information and to follow project news and view current status on our interactive online map: https://hubs.la/Q02QyFcb0

Grateful for the tourism team at Central Coast Council for their strategic work. It's so nice to have it recognised.

The strategic work of our tourism team at Central Coast Council is explored and celebrated in the latest edition of Council Magazine, recognising the value of ecotourism! The exciting feature follows the 4-year story of how the NSW Central Coast is now a region leading the way on a global scale for successfully implementing sustainable tourism strategies within its local industry. This new path was launched in 2020 by the region’s strategic shift in its Tourism Management Model, to a more hands-on approach within Council, led collaboratively by Destination Central Coast. Council’s investment in the tourism sector on the Central Coast offers inspiration to other regions looking at innovative approaches where the management model can serve as a springboard for success. Achievements such as global recognition with first place in the Green Destinations Story Awards 2024 at ITB Berlin, and upholding ECO Destination certification with Ecotourism Australia since 2022 support this ongoing success story.
