We are delighted to announce a new community partnership with the City of Canning as part of our Everlasting Elders program.     This partnership will allow us to scale our program, from 4 events per year, to 7 events in 2025 in both the Bayswater and Canning regions. Our founding community partner, City of Bayswater, have been highly supportive of our Everlasting Elders program, providing us with venue space and resources and we are looking forward to replicating this partnership with the City of Canning in 2025.     “The City of Canning proudly recognises the cultures and heritage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as a crucial part of our shared national identity,” said City of Canning Mayor Patrick Hall. “We are delighted to partner with the Spear Foundation as the first local government south of the river to deliver the Everlasting Elders Program, helping Canning’s Aboriginal Elders connect with one another and strengthen relationships in a positive environment. “The program will help deliver reconciliation actions that make up our Reconciliation Strategy and contribute to meaningful change in the City.”     The first Everlasting Elders event at the City of Canning Civic Centre will be held on the 12th March, with Event enjoying a Bingo afternoon. A Pamper Day will follow later in the year in September where all Aboriginal Elders will be welcome.
