🍀 Civmec Goes Green for St. Pat's! 🍀 Today, we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day by swapping Civmec’s blue for green and raising funds to support the amazing work done by St. Patrick's Community Support Centre. For a small donation, our employees wore their best green attire, with all money going to St. Pat's, so they can continue to assist those affected by homelessness in our community. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to this wonderful cause! Additionally, if you would also like to support St Pat’s, donations can be made via the link below. With International Women’s Day fast approaching, gender equality and inclusivity have been at the forefront of our minds at Civmec. We are pleased to see that we have maintained if not increased in female participation at our graduate, trainee, and apprentice levels. However, we acknowledge that there is always room for growth and learning. One of the ways we are doing this is by taking part in Engineers Australia’s International Women’s Day Event. Yesterday, a group of our staff heard from keynote speaker Mona Shindy, as she spoke of her experiences as a leader in a male dominated industry. The event was well attended, and our team gained valuable insights to share with the rest of Civmec. A big thank you to Engineers Australia and all those involved in organising such a great event! #WomenInEngineering #GenderEquality #MarchForward

Did you know? The install for the new solar PV system at Civmec’s Newcastle facility is complete. Installed during FY25, the new 600kW solar PV system is projected to reduce both the facility’s carbon emissions and power grid consumption by up to 30%. This is just one of the ways Civmec is investing in renewable, sustainable energy and working towards our goal of net zero emissions by 2050. #EngineeringSuccess #RenewableEnergy #ZeroEmissions

As the university semester approaches, our interns’ time at Civmec comes to an end. Today, to formally conclude the programme, our interns; Arabella, Dejan, Joshua, Mahir, and Thane, held a presentation to showcase their experiences and development during the program. The presentation also provided an opportunity for their supervisors to ask questions and gather feedback on how we can improve the program for future groups. These five interns were eager to learn and start their engineering careers strong. They felt that this internship has given them a solid understanding of real-world engineering. “I feel that the biggest upside of working at Civmec is how practical and hands-on the work can be. In university you often find yourself doing equations that don’t really apply to real world engineering, so this internship has developed my passion and drive to make a difference in the engineering space.” -Dejan Antunovich #EngineeringSuccess #Internship #EngineeringStudents
