  •   We had a ball with the kids at Blue Gum Montessori, Harmony Primary School, Treeby Primary School, Phoenix Primary School, and Jilbup Primary School as we kicked off our School Sports Program. This term, we hosted a series of Olympic Fun Days. With an Olympic twist, the days were packed with track and field events, sports games, and fun activities. 🏅 Children were grouped into different countries, competing to accumulate points throughout the day. At the end of the day, we had a closing ceremony, where one country was crowned champion with multiple awards handed out! 🥇 We’re incredibly proud of the positive feedback from all participating schools. Principal Margaret Pretty, from Phoenix Primary School shared, “What a wonderful day for the children. I saw smiles on faces all day. It was a fabulous day where everyone worked together.” Physical Education Specialist, Cameron McKay, from Treeby Primary School explains, “The students, and staff, have not stopped talking about it! The ARC staff were amazing. At no point during the day did the students feel there was a lack of energy.’ This initiative is at the heart of our mission to help children be active in physical activity and sports. It fostered community engagement among parents, staff, and children, provided an inclusive day for all abilities, and strengthened relationships with our local City of Cockburn schools. A huge thank you to our amazing ARC staff and the dedicated school staff who put on their runners and hats to make these days unforgettable for our Cockburn kids. 👟🎉 You can read more about the program here: https://rb.gy/4qrwnr If you'd like to get in touch with us about the program, please contact our Senior Sport and Programs Team Leader, Mark Bailey on 9411 3363, or mbailey@cockburn.wa.gov.au. #CityofCockburn #CockburnARC #SportSchoolProgram
