Coogee Chemicals

We are delighted to announce that our Projected Art Project is now up and running. This is the culmination of a two-year art project working with City of Kwinana, and part of our 120ML Strategic Fuel Reserve storage terminal project, which was partially funded by a Federal Government grant. The 30 works of art from six artists were commissioned following a global request for concept proposals, which garnered many submissions, from local artists as well as interstate and international artists. More details here: www.Coogee.com.au/art. The 4K Ultra HD RGB laser projector is from Christie; the same brand used on the Sydney Opera House and capable of 36,500 ISO lumens. ProAV have provided the equipment and expertise, with art consulting services provided by UDLA (thank you Loren!). We are currently projecting all of the 30 new works of commissioned art onto the tank, one artist each day (for now). A sample of some is below, visit Kwinana to see the rest! We were delighted to host UWA Chemical and Process Engineering Club members and students for a site tour last week. The students met with our CEO, Dr Grant Lukey, and toured our TiRO, Manufacturing, Terminals and KCA sites. Providing necessary hands-on and vocational experience, as well as informing the students of our vacation and graduate opportunities with Coogee, made for a very successful day.

We are so proud of our Coogee USA team for their hard work and dedication with achieving this first key milestone. We applaud your efforts and look forward to seeing Coogee USA grow and become a major supplier of magnesium powder.

Coogee continues to enjoy a long-term partnership with Chemistry Australia, and we are delighted that MINDY ZHU Senior Process Engineer and active contributor to Project Development opportunities across Coogee, has joined the Emerging Leaders Advisory Council and the Chemistry Australia Leadership Institute program, to further enhance and contribute to the chemistry industry.

Coming soon to Kwinana: Coogee Chemical's Projected Art Project. 30 works of commissioned art from six artists will soon be projected onto Coogee's recently completed very large storage tanks alongside Patterson road, at the Kwinana - Rockingham boundary. This is the culmination of an extensive selection process, working with City of Kwinana, and part of our 120ML Strategic Fuel Reserve storage terminal project (which was partially funded by federal government grant). The 30 works of art were commissioned following a global request for submissions of concept, which garnered submissions from local artists as well as interstate and international artists. The 4K RGB laser projector is from Christie; the same brand used on the Sydney Opera House and capable of 36,500 ISO lumens. ProAV are providing the equipment and expertise, with art consulting services provided by UDLA (thanks Loren!). Final projector testing is now underway, so watch this space, literally!

On Wednesday evening Coogee’s Managing Director, Dr Grant Lukey and colleagues, attended the Chemistry Australia Industry Awards. Coogee was the proud sponsor of the Net Zero Transition Award, which was awarded to Pacific Urethanes Pty Ltd.
