Today is National Close the Gap Day, a day to highlight the health and social inequalities faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. At the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority, as part of our Reconciliation Action Plan, we also recognise and acknowledge days of national significance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, as a way to build understanding and show mutual respect. Some pictures below are from when we launched our second Innovate RAP back in December last year. Read our second innovate RAP here: https://bit.ly/4f7m0Te

🚧 WORKER OF THE WEEK 🚧 Meet Nicola, Safety Coordinator at Fulton Hogan! Nic has been part of the Merrimac station project since day one, growing her career from Safety Administrator to Safety Coordinator this month! 🎉 She’s loved learning from the ground up, helping with site establishment, subcontractor onboarding and inductions while watching the Fulton Hogan team grow. One of her biggest highlights? Seeing the site transform and looking ahead to the station building taking shape after a year of below-ground work and bulk earthworks. She believes Cross River Rail will make travel across South East Queensland more accessible, cost-effective, and efficient. A game-changer for getting to and from Brisbane. Well done, Nic!

🦺 Worker of the Week 🦺 Say hello to Xiao, an Electrical Apprentice at Roma Street station. With a background in construction, Xiao has worked in various roles such as a peggy and labourer in Darwin, gaining experience across different construction sites while working for an electrical company. Now Xiao works for RSGx, who are responsible for the low voltage installation at Roma Street Station. A highlight of working on the project has been being part of something much larger. Xiao is looking forward to using the new transport network we are creating! Keep up the amazing work 🙌
