The #warfighter UGV supports an open architecture allowing partners to collaborate, coordinate and test high level behaviors / autonomy using the platforms as well as mission customisable payloads. We have had multiple 3rd parties such as Primes integrate control function of the UGV as well as their own payloads. The platform has load rated attachment points, a service panel with comms and power options, and behavior tree architecture for advance autonomy functions. We support MQTT, ROS and MAVLINK for control whilst having onboard sensors and edge compute for vehicle management and autonomy functions. #AI #RAS #UGV

ROBOT WARS The #WarfighterUGV is based off the BIA5 #ATR platform, which helped CSIRO's Data61 come second in the world in the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) SubT challenge due it ability to traverse complex terrain whilst carrying significant payload. Further work was done during the Firefighting development program to make the system waterproof and combining simultaneous sensing and effecting, controlled by a single operator. Best way to test it being waterproof? Spray the two systems at each other.

The #WarfighterUGV is built on the BIA5 ATR platform, a world proven #TRL9 UGV currently in service with mining companies and having competed in CSIRO's Data61 team which came second in the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) SubT challenge. The four systems below were delivered to Rio Tinto and have EO / IR optics, gimballed end effectors, hazardous sensors and all enabled via a common controller.

Ukraine is showing the need for highly mobile platforms to provide final mile logistics to front line soldiers with a minimal physical and heat signature. The team at Cyborg and BIA5 is always testing and improving the Warfighter UGV capabilities to provide maximum payload at minimum gross mass, at maximum speed, with minimal human input via onboard vehicle autonomy.

The Cyborg team are currently working with Australian Institute of Marine Science as part of a Great Barrier Reef Foundation project to replace human diver towing with autonomous terrain following towing. Removing / reducing humans from this task reduces fatigue, risks of collisions, allows longer search missions for greater survey coverage, and prevents the risks of humans from threats such as sharks and crocodiles. Here, the ReefScan Deep is shown in the software in the Loop simulator, providing terrain following and collision avoidance depth control. The #warfighter UGV open architecture allows for control via 3rd party applications, in this instance it is able to receive CoT messages from TAK to navigate tactically via AI enabled route planning.
