ROBOT WARS The #WarfighterUGV is based off the BIA5 #ATR platform, which helped CSIRO's Data61 come second in the world in the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) SubT challenge due it ability to traverse complex terrain whilst carrying significant payload. Further work was done during the Firefighting development program to make the system waterproof and combining simultaneous sensing and effecting, controlled by a single operator. Best way to test it being waterproof? Spray the two systems at each other.

The Athena team recently collaborated with Skyborne Technologies and Cyborg Dynamics Engineering to demonstrate a fully integrated TAK solution utilising our Geospatial AI system (Geo). Unmanned Aerial Systems including Cerberus and Teal Drones, as well as Unmanned Ground Vehicles, were connected to the TAK network, providing real time target recognition from multiple sensors, and live BLUEFOR tracking data.   The gathered data was then used to plan covered and concealed routes to objectives using Geo's automated route planning software. The R.O.R.I story continues.... This week we recieved R.O.R.I - 2.0 1 of 4 units that will be delivered to our Pilbara sites in the new year. Utilising Rio Tinto's pioneering pitch program we were able to trial robotics in a number of response scenarios with our R.O.R.I. prototype with a key focus on responder exclusion zones, such as tyre fires, AN, pressure vessels, HAZMAT etc. 2 years on we are looking forward to seeing these operational units being put to good use on our sites and communities to enhance responder capability. Thanks to all our partners that helped bring this capability to life.
