    Today our teams are proudly celebrating Wear it Purple Day in support of safe and inclusive environments for rainbow young people. Our teams kicked off the day with vibrant purple-themed morning teas with many wearing a splash of purple to show their support and solidarity and extend this spirit through our stores. Matthew Hampton, e-Commerce Trade Coordinator and member of our Diversity and Inclusion Allyship team loves the meaning behind Wear it Purple Day. “Wear it Purple Day is a powerful reminder of our commitment to fostering a culture where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered.     As a proud founding partner of National Breast Cancer Foundation, it was our privilege to host the launch of the Pink Ribbon Breakfast in our Elizabeth Street store recently. We are committed to supporting people experiencing breast cancer by partnering with NBCF to raise funds for research to help stop deaths from breast cancer.

    To celebrate the launch of our Pink Ribbon Breakfast now in its 22nd year, we brought together some of our amazing corporate partners and community fundraisers who contribute to its success. It was a wonderful evening filled with inspiring stories, host tips and tricks and an insight into the research projects this campaign helps to fund. We would like to give a heartfelt thank you to David Jones for generously hosting us in their Sydney flagship store. Our deepest gratitude to Interflora for the beautiful floral arrangements and a big shoutout to Royal Albert and ghd for their generous contributions to our gift bags, making them a delightful surprise for our guests.     The new Home of Luxury Beauty has arrived. Today we celebrated the re-opening of the Beauty Floor at our iconic Bourke Street Flagship following a $15 million investment. Friend of David Jones Eleanor Pendleton hosted a panel featuring four home grown beauty entrepreneurs: Richard Parker, Founder of RATIONALE, Anna Lahey, Founder of Vida Glow and TYPEBEA, Raquel Bouris, Founder and Creative Director of Who Is Elijah, and Rebecca Jefferd, Co-Founder of Ultra Violette, as well as special guest Anastasia Soare, CEO and Founder of Anastasia Beverly Hills.     This week we were honoured to host 400 of our brand partners for our annual Brand Partner Conference in a hybrid session held at the incredible Museum of Contemporary Art Australia.   The afternoon was an opportunity for David Jones leaders to celebrate the achievements of the past year, share our investment strategy and plans for the future and hear from our partners on their priorities.   We also invited Anthony Chesler from community organisation Thread Together to share the work we’re partnering on together to provide clothing to people impacted by natural disasters.   We are proud to partner with world class brands both locally and globally, together creating a shopping destination to inspire for our customers.

    Today, we proudly announced the donation of the David Jones archive to the Powerhouse – preserving and amplifying our 186-year-old history and marking the beginning of a partnership with the 143-year-old museum.    The archive, which features a vast collection of preserved artefacts and documents dating back to the early 1800s, reveals several pieces that showcase the remarkable history and enduring impact we have had on Australian identity, thought and opinion. The partnership will also see us invest into the next generation of Australian designers by establishing the David Jones and Powerhouse Australian Design Commission.    “David Jones shares a foundation of innovation and progress with the Powerhouse and a commitment to preserving and celebrating the stories that have helped shape our communities' cultural fabric," said our CEO, Scott Fyfe. To celebrate the partnership, Powerhouse curators unveiled a temporary exhibition ‘Like No Other – Celebrating an Australian Icon’ at our Elizabeth Street Flagship in Sydney featuring a small collection of items from the archives.    #likenoother

    We’re thrilled to announce winners of the David Jones 2024 Beauty Awards. In a first for the awards, customers held all the power with exclusive public voting. Twelve products were crowned the most beloved beauty must-haves, from Luxe Skincare, Makeup, Signature Fragrances and Holy Grail Products. With 25,000 customer votes across the campaign, La Mer’s Crème de La Mer cemented its position as Best Luxury Skincare winner, whilst Best Lip Colour was awarded to Dior’s Lip Addict. Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle was crowned Best Hall Of Fame product, and Giorgio Armani’s Prive Santal Dan Sha Eau de Toilette was declared Best Cult Scent. “The 2024 David Jones Beauty Awards has given us an incredible barometer to understand the products that our customers truly view as the best of the best, which really elevates the authenticity of the award,” said Alicia Shoolman, our General Manager of Beauty.
