A few weeks back Lomachenko and Kambosos clashed at a sold out RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia making it the biggest attended sporting event for the venue. Vasilliy "The Matrix" Lomachenko was successful in the bout claiming the vacant IBF lightweight world title, defeating Kambosos Jr. in dominating fashion in the 11th round via TKO. A massive success in and out of the ring, engaged by TEG, DGPR worked alongside TEG Sport with our friends at Tourism WA, RAC Arena and Crown Perth in a series of media calls reaching a local, interstate and international audience starting back in January. This weekend Stories started a new chapter for Yagan Square. Stories will cover many bases, catering to families, corporate professionals, city workers, party-goers, and tourists alike. Behind Stories is the Perth hospitality group Nokturnl, the progressive team responsible for The Old Synagogue in Fremantle, The Beaufort in Highgate and the recently launched South Perth hotspot The Station, all multifaceted hospitality businesses will be employing some 600+ people across the state when Stories opens. Nokturnl’s Ross Drennan and Drew Flanagan are no strangers to rejuvenating iconic WA locations. Over the past 10 years they’ve notched up a track record of creating immersive and unforgettable hospitality experiences. It’s no stretch to say this pair of entrepreneurs have changed the face of Perth. Stories is their first CBD venture; it’s highly ambitious but built on some very impressive foundations. oOh!, Crown Resorts, Nine Perth and Val Morgan are returning as major sponsors for the 2024 Oasis Ball. Each company committing significant value to the Oasis Committee’s efforts to raise $150,000 to support The Salvation Army and Oasis House. Michelle Testa, Carat Client Partner and 2024 Chairperson said: “Our industry is feeling the bumps and hurdles of the current state of the economy, and we acknowledge that we are not immune to the budget cuts and reduced spending in extracurricular activities such as sponsorships and events. It’s with heartfelt thanks to each of our major sponsors for their commitment to our committee and our cause as they return as partners in 2024. “What was most pleasing in each of the meetings with our major sponsors was their alignment with our concern that we must be better as an industry at reconnecting with our purpose and mission to be a force for good. We’ve ideated around boardroom tables over the past few months to enhance the experience for our guests whilst ensuring we balance the glamour of the event and find new ways of delivering our fundraising goal.” The Oasis Committee is focused on delivering $150,000 to support The Salvation Army’s WA Youth Programmes which are designed to serve some of the most disadvantaged young people within the community. These young people’s lives have been severely impacted by their parents’ or guardians’ alcohol and drug addiction, mental health and unstable home environments. As a direct result they experience family violence, abuse, neglect and abandonment. The focus of the Oasis Project is Oasis House in Mirrabooka, with funds raised supporting a range of initiatives aimed at giving young people a safe and stable environment in the first instance and help them transition to independent living. The Oasis Ball, now in its 28th year, will be held on Friday 17th May 2024 at Crown Towers and features the Campaign Brief Awards amongst entertainment, experiences and many more ways for more than 900 guests to contribute towards the Oasis Committee’s fundraising goal. With sincere thanks to our Major Sponsors; Val Morgan – Michelle Hawkins and Megan Camp oOh!Media – Chris Eyres Nine Perth – Clive Bingwa, Nina Schaus and Peter Brennan Crown Resorts

Joy - a project that brings real joy to patients of Perth Children’s Hospital through art - was born from the heartbreak of one family’s loss of a child after many months in PCH. Joy - Volume II ‘Etoile is the second iteration of this compassionate initiative. It is a direct result of the energy and talent of Perth curator and artist Jo Meredith in collaboration with Marie and Gino and The Montauk Lighting Co. team. Joy raises money enabling Starlight Children’s Foundation to provide art programs for children who are patients at PCH. It does so with an art exhibition and sales of pieces by leading Australian artists who donate their work: the initial Joy exhibition, in 2022, raised nearly $55,000. It is hoped the initiative will considerably exceed that in 2024. Joy this year includes the work of leading artists including Andy Quilty, Anya Brock, Felicia Aroney and Jordy Hewitt, among many others. Joy has also allowed the Lester Prize - WA’s preeminent portraiture award - to reinstate a Hospitals category. Marie Botsis-Premici is a former Board member of the Lester Prize.
