Last week, Chloe Hicks, our Executive Director of Strategy and Policy represented EnergyCo at the FACCI Sustainability Forum, hosted by the FACCI - French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Chloe’s participation follows EnergyCo’s recent engagements with the British Chambers of Commerce and La Camara, The Spanish-Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry as we continue to strengthen our relationships with some of the key investors in the NSW energy transition. This week our EnergyCo Board Chair Paul Binsted also participated in the AFR Energy & Climate Summit roundtable discussion on Australia’s roadmap to decarbonisation. He shared updates on our Renewable Energy Zones, highlighting the progress of key projects that will contribute to NSW’s goal of securing 12 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2030. We want to thank everyone who participated in these events and continues to support NSW’s clean energy future. 📸 Photo by Flavio Brancaleone from the AFR Energy & Climate Summit event. #EnergyTransition #Sustainability #RenewableEnergy #NSW

We are excited to share that we have released detailed maps showing 19 highway upgrades. These upgrades will support the transportation of wind turbines and other large items from the Port of Newcastle to the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ). These improvements are important for moving these components along key roads in New South Wales. They will make it easier and safer to transport them from the Port of Newcastle to Elong Elong. You can explore the detailed maps of these 19 highway upgrades that will connect the Port of Newcastle to the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone here 🚚🚚🚚: https://lnkd.in/gEFjQXpj

Great news! The Hon Penny Sharpe MLC, Minister for Energy has granted ACEREZ a transmission operating licence for the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ). This allows ACEREZ to design, build, and operate the REZ's transmission system, connecting renewable energy projects and supplying electricity to NSW homes. Did you know? Businesses can get a fixed price and fixed supply of renewable energy through a power purchase agreement, or PPA. PPAs guarantee that you, the buyer, can purchase energy from renewable energy projects like offsite solar farms or wind farms at an agreed price, volume and term. The 2 most common types are wholesale and retail PPAs. You can learn more about them – and whether they’re right for your organisation here: https://lnkd.in/gBFpTWuD

South West Renewable Energy Zone update ⚡ The NSW Government has received strong interest in the first tender for access rights in the South West REZ. Projects representing over 15GW of wind, solar, and battery power have been submitted—almost four times the available 3.98GW capacity. The projects chosen will contribute millions of dollars to local communities and help provide reliable energy to our state. Penny Sharpe said: “NSW continues to lead Australia’s energy transition, ensuring affordable, clean, and reliable power for consumers.” #SouthWestREZ #RenewableEnergy #CleanEnergy #SustainableFuture #NSW
