It’s not every day we have so many of our senior leaders in one place. However, there is never a better opportunity to assemble our leadership team than our annual conference. This year, we’re thrilled to share our new three-year strategy. Together, we're excited about the journey ahead and the difference we can make together.

From the moment our nurses join Estia Health, we emphasise the importance of person centred care. While traditional nursing education provides essential clinical knowledge and skills, it often lacks a focus on personalised, compassionate care designed specifically for the Older Person. Recognising this gap, we designed a workshop to provide hands-on training to our registered nurses that focuses on delivering tailored compassionate care that the Older Person needs. Say hello to Megha, one of our dedicated Registered Nurses and Infection Prevention Control Lead at Estia Health Oakleigh East. Since joining us in 2020 as a Personal Care Assistant, Megha has truly blossomed. Balancing her nursing studies with hands-on care for our residents, she has built a foundation of compassion and expertise that shines through in everything she does. Now a Registered Nurse, Megha brings a heartfelt approach to her role, ensuring each resident receives safe and holistic care. Her commitment to infection prevention and her passion for enhancing residents’ wellbeing are just a few of the many reasons we’re proud to have her on our team. 💙

We take pride in our team's ability to create meaningful connections with our residents (and willingness to wear a dirndl), often going above and beyond to enrich their lives in simple yet impactful ways, bringing smiles, laughter, and a touch of home to those in our care. And a recent Oktoberfest celebration at our Salisbury home exemplifies this commitment. Our MO, Peter, embraced the occasion by becoming "Helga," a vibrant beer maiden, bringing immense joy to our residents, especially Hans, our proud German resident. 🍻✨ It’s this joy and dedication that creates a vibrant, caring home that enhances the quality of life for our residents.💙

Meet Norma, a vibrant 99-year-old whose life has been filled with love, family and joy. After a lifetime of caring for those she loves, the roles reversed, and her daughter Yvonne became her devoted caregiver. Knowing how much Yvonne had given, Norma encouraged her to take a well-deserved break. Little did they know, this decision would lead to a wonderful, unexpected new chapter for Norma.✨💙 Norma’s story is a beautiful reminder that life can continue to surprise us, no matter our age! Last month, we had the pleasure of attending the Hunter Aged Care Expo, where we proudly showcased our Aberglasslyn and Tea Gardens homes to the local community. Our dedicated team, Jade, Client Services Officer (CSO) from Aberglasslyn; Kristi, CSO and Lhenny, Lifestyle Coordinator from Tea Gardens along with Jacinta, Client Relations Manager, were thrilled to connect with attendees, sharing insights on the Estia Health experience and answering questions about our homes. It was wonderful to see so many people stop by our stand, enter our hamper giveaway, enjoy some chocolates, and have meaningful conversations about life at Estia Health. We look forward to continuing to build strong connections within the community and supporting those who entrust us with their care.

Today we recognise International Day of Older Persons, a day to appreciate the contributions older generations make to society and celebrate their life, wisdom, and legacy. They have weathered storms, built legacies, and offer unique perspectives on life. As Australia's senior population continues to grow, it's more important than ever for continued support, advocacy, and systems that cater to the unique needs of older individuals. And for us at Estia Health, this day holds special meaning. Every year, we have the privilege of caring for over 8,000 older persons across Australia. To mark this special day, some of our residents have shared their words of wisdom, offering insights into life, love, and living with purpose. Let’s continue to celebrate and uplift the voices of our older generations, not just on International Day of Older Persons, but every day.

We are thrilled to have been awarded Epicor's 2024 Aged Care Champion! This recognition, part of the Epicor ANZ Champion Awards, celebrates our dedication to innovation and excellence in aged care. 💛 R U OK? Day is a gentle reminder that sometimes the smallest gestures can have the biggest impact. While we encourage meaningful connections every day, this year's R U OK? Day brought our team and residents together in a special way. From thoughtful check-ins to acts of kindness, we celebrated the importance of looking out for one another. Something we strive to do all year round. Together, we continue to create a community where everyone feels valued, heard and supported. 💬💙
