A social enterprise with the mission of creating a health and medical sector where women thrive!
About us
Franklin Women is a social enterprise with a mission to create an Australian health and medical research ecosystem where women thrive 🚀 We do this in two ways: 1) by building the largest professional network of women working in diverse roles, career levels and organisations in the sector, and 2) by supporting the workplaces that employ them to create a diverse and inclusive culture where everyone belongs and thrives. Join our mission by becoming a member and tap into our many member benefits as well as our supportive and brilliant community of women working to make a difference to health outcomes of the community. Or engage your workplace in our Partner Organisation initiative - a collective alliance of organisations who share our mission and want to invest in it and in turn their workforce. As a social enterprise, we believe keeping women in careers in the health and medical research ecosystem is something worth investing in. Together, we can have the greatest impact. We want to take this opportunity to acknowledge the Kolling Institute, one of our longstanding Partner Organisations. Thank you for working with us to create a health and medical research ecosystem where women thrive ✨ So far, 23 staff and students from the Kolling Institute have participated in our cross-organisational mentoring program, including the Institute’s Academic Director, Prof. James M Elliott, who served as a Mentor in 2022—now that’s what we call leadership! This program supports mid-career women in their career journeys and helps leaders build their inclusive leadership skills. You can learn more about the Kolling Institute and their fabulous team here 👉 https://lnkd.in/g5NnThRy We are incredibly grateful to (and inspired by!) our alliance of Partner Organisations. 'Growth happens when you are outside of your comfort zone'. This is the quote that came flashing before my eyes when I was about to go up on stage to interview University of Sydney Vice-Chancellor and President, Prof Mark Scott, for the Franklin Women #Mentoring Program Alumni event. It was the most nervous I had been in a while, but as it turned out, I had a wonderful time talking to Mark about his own leadership journey, where he goes for mentorship and why diversity and inclusion are key leadership capabilities of the future. Going outside of your comfort zone is scary. But once you've done it, you create an evidence point to call upon next time you are about to do something scary as a reminder that you can do it and will be AOK 🚀👉 https://lnkd.in/g-JxVksS #FranklinWomen #InConversation #LeadershipForGood #WomenInSTEMM
