Today at the Future of Singapore Government Summit, Gek Peng Tay, Chief Digitalisation Officer and Head of RAiD at the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) shared the incredible story of RAiD (RSAF Agile Innovation Digital) and how it’s transforming the RSAF. Born from a leadership retreat in 2017, RAiD emerged as an answer to a key question: How might the RSAF disrupt itself before getting disrupted? This led to the creation of pivotal tools like SwiftMed and SwiftCobra in collaboration with GovTech and the tech industry. These initiatives have made the RSAF more agile and data-driven in an increasingly volatile environment. RAiD’s success lies in the combination of organic tech capabilities and strong partnerships. As Gek Peng emphasised, “We can’t do it alone—collaboration is fundamental.” By working with academia, industry and government, RAiD has brought smart solutions to the RSAF’s airmen and airwomen, enhancing their operational readiness and digital maturity.
