Building a mentally fit future.
About us
Started by Gus and Vicky Worland in 2017, Gotcha4Life Foundation delivers innovative and inspirational preventative mental health campaigns, programs tools and resources that build emotional adaptability, social connectedness and help-seeking behaviours. Our vision is simple, a suicide-free future where no one worries alone. Known as ‘Australia’s mental fitness charity’, our mission is to inspire and enable all Australians to take action to build their mental fitness, so no one worries alone. We define mental fitness as our capacity to cope and adapt to life’s challenges. We believe that the more mentally fit you feel, the better you are able to respond to the inevitable peaks and troughs of life and manage challenging emotions when they arise.

“You might not be my best friend, but you’re in my village and that means we care about each other” From the mouths of babes. The day after International Children’s Day, all of the adults at our NSW Parliament House Government briefing were inspired by the wisdom of a 10 year old child. We welcomed Ministers, Members and industry leaders from all corners of NSW to learn more about the impact our Mentally Fit Primary Schools Initiative is having in our schools. We were energised by NSW Minister for Mental Health, The Honourable Rose Jackson’s enthusiastic address and look forward to partnering with the NSW Government to expand and deepen the impact of our Primary Schools initiative in 2025. Special thanks to James Griffin MP for your support in hosting us at NSW Parliament House, and our inspiring speakers Gus Worland, G4L Founder, Dr Jodie Lowinger, G4L Advisory Board and Belinda Elworthy, G4L CEO. But it was the address from Principal Lucy Norrish from Nicholson St Public School that really bought the impact of our Mentally Fit Primary Schools initiative home. Lucy shared the significant changes she has witnessed in her school community since partnering with Gotcha4Life at the start of 2024. From enhanced understanding of mental fitness protective factors amongst staff and students, to a more connected community… and 10 year old children with new skills to help navigate friendship challenges with more love and kindness. Today has been a big day for Gus Worland, with the announcement that after 16 years, Gus has made the decision to depart Triple M, to focus on Gotcha4Life's continued growth and impact. Gus will be stepping away from his daily role hosting The Rush Hour, in order to spend more time sharing his remarkable, powerful, and much needed message, as the Founder of Gotcha4Life and our Head Presenter. We're thrilled that more people will get to experience Gus' impact, and also recognise the enormity of this transition for Gus and his Triple M Team and community of listeners. We are also so grateful for the incredible support Triple M has always shown Gotcha4Life. A new era begins... Today is RUOK? Day – a time to remind ourselves to check in with those around us. But what if you’re the one being asked? We know that mental fitness means not only offering help, but also having the courage and emotional muscle to seek it. It can be tough to open up—whether you fear being judged or don’t want to burden others. But when someone asks, “RUOK?”, take a moment to answer honestly. Reaching out is an act of strength. For support on how to start these important conversations, check out RUOK's How to Ask RUOK At Work Guide. It’s a valuable tool that helps break down barriers and gives you the confidence to ask—and answer—meaningfully. Together, we can build a future where no one has to worry alone. What if no one ever had to navigate their darkest moments alone? This weekend, thousands of rowers across the country came together for the annual Gotcha4Life 24 Hour Row, united by a shared purpose: building a mentally fit future. The energy across nearly 70 locations was electric! Corporate teams, schools, Surf Life Saving Clubs, Rowing Teams and Gyms... all pushing each other forward, all connected via Zoom to inspire and support one another. It was a powerful reminder of the strength that comes from being connected to your community. Every stroke made a difference, raising crucial funds to equip people with the tools to speak up, reach out, and connect. We rowed through the night and into the early morning for the 9 Australians lost to suicide each day - driven by a vision of a future where mental fitness is a priority, and no one has to face life’s toughest moments alone. Our tanks are empty, but our hearts are full. And we can't wait to do it all again next year. 💡 Inspiration and 🎉 Celebration was the theme for our Annual Team Day this year. A short moment to reconnect as a team, unpack recent insights and explore their application to continuously improve our approach across all of our priority settings and audiences. A big day that ended with full brains, tummies and hearts. A huge thank you to Nicole Downs and all the team at Ovolo Hotels for sharing such an energising and welcoming space for us to do this. We're very grateful for your kind hospitality, and going the extra mile to make our team feel so welcome. Now we're back to it!
