Green Industries SA is proud to support the Adelaide Central Market Authority’s Trader Sustainability Program. Through our Business Sustainability Program and Lead-Educate-Assist-Promote (LEAP) grants, GISA has awarded $100,000 for the program, which will see best practice sustainability guides and training modules developed for traders in the Adelaide Central Market, and will support traders to make informed business decisions on food waste, energy efficiency, sustainable purchasing, customer engagement, and store fit-out – accelerating sustainable change, and SA’s transition to a circular economy. Yesterday, we launched our agency's first Reconciliation Action Plan. GISA staff and members of the GISA Board were joined by the Hon. Dr Susan Close MP, Deputy Premier and Minister for Climate, Environment and Water, CEO of Reconciliation SA Jason Downs, Aunty Elaine Magias, Maureen and Naomi Humes-Hicks of Spirit in Unity, artist Karen Briggs, and other key stakeholders who have supported our agency on its reconciliation journey to this point. The launch of our Reflect RAP is an essential step that will help Green Industries SA to lead a just and inclusive transition to a circular economy in South Australia. Our staff are dedicated to fostering and strengthening relationships with First Nations peoples, communities, and organisations through our work, and are committed to promoting Reconciliation with our stakeholders and playing an active role in addressing the wrongs of the past. The findings will provide insights into the value and contribution of the reuse sector and help accelerate efforts towards waste and circular economy goals.
