HILT CRC welcomes the Australian Government’s initiative to support green aluminium production. Announced today, the Green Aluminium Production Credit is part of the #FutureMadeInAustralia plan and a key component of Australian heavy industry's transition to net-zero carbon emissions. Key highlights of the new initiative: ➡️ $2 billion investment in Australia’s aluminium industry. ➡️ Supports Australian aluminium smelters switching to renewable electricity before 2036 ➡️ A 10-year credit for smelters producing clean, renewable-powered aluminium. ➡️ Leverages Australia’s onshore aluminium supply chain - from bauxite mining to finished products - to meet global demand for decarbonised metals. The Green Aluminium Production Credit aligns closely with HILT CRC’s mission to drive innovation in the heavy industry sector for a low-carbon future.
