Behind South Australia’s 950,000-strong cohort of volunteers stands an equally dedicated group of people who are responsible for the coordination, support, training, administration and recognition of our volunteers – volunteer managers. Today on International Volunteer Manager’s Day, we celebrate the vital role that amazing leaders play in shaping our communities. This year’s theme, “What’s our future normal?”, invites us to consider how we can adapt and grow in the ever-changing world of volunteering. DHS is proud to support the volunteer sector and recognise the dedication of those who lead our State’s generous volunteers with passion and purpose. #HumanServicesSA #IVMDay24 #Volunteering

What an amazing afternoon at the 2024 Adelaide Pride March! Adelaide’s East End came alive with colour, laughter, and an overwhelming sense of community on Saturday as staff from DHS, along with colleagues from the SA public sector, gathered to march in the name of love, unity, and inclusion. It was heartwarming to see LGBTIQA+ individuals, allies, friends and families come together to show support and solidarity for the LGBTIQA+ community. Thank you to everyone who participated and made this event so special. It’s Pridevember in South Australia so let’s carry this spirit of love and acceptance forward throughout November and every day. #HumanServicesSA #Diversity #CelebratePride #PrideMarch

From 27 October to 2 November 2024, South Australia will observe Gambling Harm Action Week (GHAW). Since 2007, it’s been an annual initiative that highlights the significant the impacts of gambling. This year’s theme ‘Let’s Change the Conversation’ focuses on changing the language around gambling harm to reduce stigma and shame and promote conversations that facilitate help seeking. This GHAW, we’re proud to launch our new campaign of short videos featuring the perspectives of people with lived experiences of gambling harm and how unhelpful language impacted their help-seeking journey. In support of this campaign, we have also developed a language guide for professionals and the community to talk about gambling harm more effectively. Catch us on digital platforms - Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. Visit our website and assist us in amplifying the message this week: https://lnkd.in/gqCeZhQs #HumanServicesSA #GamblingHarmActionWeek #ChangeTheConversation
