IGO has joined forces with Fibre Economy, a social enterprise combatting textile waste by finding new life for unwanted workwear🦺. Fibre Economy has a partnership with Good Sammy Enterprises who de-brand and redistribute, repurpose or recycle the clothing, fostering employment opportunities for people with disability. Since the start of this initiative, Fibre Economy have helped us divert 693kg of workwear from landfill, avoiding 1.38T of greenhouse gas emissions. We have now set up long-term collection points across IGO so we can continue to contribute to the circular economy of textile recycling. Family and friends of our employees recently touched down at our Nova Operation on Ngadju Country for a firsthand glimpse into life on site. From enjoying a meal in the mess, attending a prestart meeting and touring our operation, to face painting and pickleball, families had an action-packed day, with a surprise visit from a family of the feathered kind - an emu and its nine chicks! Family Day is always a highlight at IGO, helping keep loved ones connected with their family members by providing real insight into their lives away from home. #runthroughthesprinklers #bebettertogether

Congratulations to our Exploration team! Exploration has been a core capability of IGO for many years and we are proud of our talent in this area.
Congratulations to IGO Ltd for being awarded Discovery of the Year for the Dogleg nickel-copper-cobalt prospect. In 2023, IGO’s exploration team uncovered high-grade nickel-copper-cobalt mineralisation at Dogleg while targeting ‘Nova-style’ magmatic nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation in the Proterozoic belt of the west Kimberley region. The assay results of the first Dogleg drillhole showcased high-grade massive sulphides within a broader zone of low-to-moderate grade mineralisation. The drillhole’s deposit style is extremely rare in Australia. The new discovery could lead to multiple new nickel mines in the region, making them important feedstocks for Australia’s downstream nickel ambitions. #australianmining #2024prospectawards

The inaugural cohort of IGO employees attended our first Whadjuk Noongar Cross Cultural Course, held at our South Perth Office, gaining a deeper insight into the rich cultural heritage accumulated over thousands of generations by the Whadjuk Noongar people. This course is based on the framework of the Ngadju Cross Cultural Course, held at our Nova Operation, and we extend our thanks to CSD Network and Kambarang Services for their invaluable contributions, knowledge, and personal stories that have contributed to both the training manual and course. The cover of the manual also features an original artwork titled ‘The River of Life’ by Hellen Walley-Stack, which is also displayed in our South Perth Office. As part of IGO's dedication to the ongoing journey of reconciliation and through our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), we are proud to offer such meaningful and engaging training, allowing our employees to deepen their understanding of the lands in which we live and work, and to explore how we can all contribute to reconciliation.

IGO’s exploration projects are spread throughout Australia, many in very remote areas with limited mobile phone coverage. To improve the safety for our people travelling to these locations, over the past year, a project has been underway to update, upgrade, or replace remote tracking systems to newer, better technology. All vehicles are now fitted with a journey management system, which provides real-time location and vehicle data, ensuring safety during journeys. The improved systems have reduced missed fatigue breaks, decreased speeding incidents, and enhanced maintenance planning monitoring. IGO has proudly supported the Future Female Leaders Program as a Visionary Investor and through our people participating as mentors to inspire young women in year 11. This month, the Future Female Leaders Gala marked the conclusion of this year’s program, a night to remember celebrating everyone involved. IGO Senior Project Geologist Gillian Catalano served as a mentor in the program, and said that watching the mentees grow and develop over the past six months had been a very rewarding experience. “They are an amazing group and I am proud to have been a part of their journey. This is an amazing program for IGO to sponsor to give young women the tools they need for success in their future personal and work life,” Gillian said. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Future Female Leaders, as we remain committed to inspiring the next generation of leaders. #makingadifference #FFLP #futurefemaleleaders

Our Forrestania Environment Team has undertaken progressive rehabilitation in recent weeks, assisting in planting over 6,000 seedlings across the operation to aid in re-establishing vegetation of disturbed sand borrow pits. Among the 6,000 seedlings were a variety of species of Eucalyptus, Carex, Banksia, Melaleuca, Maireana, Atriplex and Hakeas. Rehabilitation is a complex process and, in this case, the following steps were taken; involving reshaping the area to a natural landform, spreading stockpiled topsoil and mulch, and tube stock planting. Planting was completed in two stages; firstly, after the topsoil was spread, and the second round of planting was completed once plants had established and gaps were identified. A contractor was utilised for the huge job of planting the seedlings, however there were a few trays of seedlings left to be planted so the Environmental team decided to call for help from other departments. IGO people from across various teams at Forrestania assisted in the project, having an opportunity to gain insight into the process of rehabilitation while also enjoying the sunshine and fresh air. #makingadifference #rehabilitation
