ICT Project Manager | 10 + years of IT experience.

February 2022, after 7 years with the company, I decided to take a break from my career and move to Australia, to Perth. From the beginning of my planning, I had very clear goals, including developing English as a second language, taking a cybersecurity course in Australia, and getting a job in the same role I had in Brazil. When we are still in our comfort zone, all these seem like impossible dreams to achieve. In fact, radical changes at 40 years old are scary, but I remained focused and believed it was possible. Today, September 2024, looking at these two photos, I realised how quickly time has passed, but at the same time, how hard the process was. In September 2022, I was working at Iluka as a housekeeper while still studying. In July 2023, I received an offer to work at Iluka through the Graduate Program, and after a year, in August 2024, I received my first contract to work full-time as a Project Manager. The process can be long and difficult if you choose to think of it that way, or it can simply take the time it needs to, for you to develop as a person and professional. What may seem difficult today will prepare you for a much bigger challenge in the future, and that will be incredibly rewarding. Just believe in the process, take every moment to learn, and accept that you don’t know everything and that even a simple person in a position below yours can teach you many things. Life is too short not to be lived. People are born, live, and die in the same place without having had the opportunity to leave their space. Enjoy your journey. If you are one of the lucky ones to live a challenging journey, thank God every day for it because there is no such thing as a winner. There is life, experience, and people who will show you other ways of looking at life that may have been unknown to you.

Iluka Resources is proud to partner with the Clontarf Foundation and the Stars Foundation - Australia.   We were delighted when Craig Brierty, Deputy CEO, Clontarf Foundation and Kaisha Jetta, Transitions Co-ordinator Perth, Stars Foundation dropped into the Perth office for a yarn. Pictured here with Dan McGrath, Head of Rare Earths, Iluka Resources.   It was a great opportunity for our staff to learn more about the important work they do and the opportunities they offer young Indigenous peoples.

Iluka’s partnership with Yamatji Southern Regional Corporation is helping to foster strong relationships with the Traditional Owners of the land on which our Eneabba operations are located. We look forward to continued cooperation and engagement for cultural exchange, inclusion and long-term opportunities for both the Yamatji Nation and Iluka Resources.

𝐀𝐜𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐥𝐮𝐤𝐚'𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 Iluka Resources has taken a significant step in honoring the culture and history of the Yamatji people by naming their new Eneabba camp "Ngulya," which means Black Cockatoo in Wilunyu/Amangu, as part of their NAIDOC celebrations. Our dedicated Heritage Coordinator, Chris Gordon, along with Southern Yamatji Cultural Committee member Deborah Robinson, recently visited the newly named Ngulya Camp. During Iluka’s NAIDOC celebrations, Deborah had the honor of delivering a heartfelt Welcome to Country. She proudly shared her mother’s journey, balancing family commitments while contributing to the ILUA settlement, and spoke of her own efforts in supporting youth within the Justice and Health Systems. Her words deeply resonated with all in attendance, reflecting the respect and appreciation of those present. Chris Gordon was also invited to speak on the significance of NAIDOC Day, tracing its origins back to the Day of Mourning in 1938. He took the opportunity to acknowledge Iluka's nationally recognised Rehabilitation program, which has earned the prestigious Golden Gecko Award. The next morning, Chris and Deborah were given a tour of the new camp, where they were impressed by its integration with nature, cutting-edge technology, and the provision of safe spaces for all. During this visit, YSRC and Iluka Management discussed potential partnerships, with Iluka committing to engaging further with YSRC teams to explore these exciting opportunities. Together, we continue to strengthen the bonds between our communities and create a future of mutual respect and collaboration. #NAIDOC2024 #YSRC #IlukaResources #NgulyaCamp #YSRC #ysrcorp #firstnations #goldengeckoaward

Iluka team members hit the ground in western Victoria to celebrate the thriving agricultural region at the annual Sheepvention Rural Expo in Hamilton earlier this month. More than 100 people took the opportunity to speak to our team about Iluka's plans in the region.   Iluka has a 20-year history of mining, processing and rehabilitation in Victoria and proposes to invest in a mine and processing facility in the Wimmera region, where a potential multi-decade source of both zircon and rare earths would create jobs and opportunities for locals and support opportunities for value addition in the State.   A definitive feasibility study is underway and we are progressing work on the environment effects statement.   Our team was delighted to meet so many people who are passionate about their community and its future and were pleased to support the National Centre for Farmer Health over the two days.

Representatives from Iluka’s Perth corporate office and the WA South West team joined forces in June to get their hands dirty by planting native species.  One hundred hectares of Iluka-owned land in the region is being converted to a biodiverse forest, to generate carbon credits for the next 25 years. Iluka appointed Canopy, a nature-based solutions and environmental markets business of Greening Australia, to support the delivery of the project.  This is the first time Iluka has planted to generate carbon credits, having identified a suitable location close to North Capel operations. The carbon credits generated are planned to partially offset the company’s carbon emissions as part of a broader climate change work program focused on decarbonising Iluka’s operations.   Pictured are Sarah Hodgson, General Manager People and Sustainability, and Samantha Roberts, Senior Corporate Lawyer.  #decarbonisation #employeeengagement #carboncredits Mark Alchin

Iluka’s Jacinth-Ambrosia operation in South Australia is the world’s largest zircon mine. We’re pleased to be a member of South Australian Chamber of Mines & Energy (SACOME) and grateful for their support in showcasing how vital the resources sector is to daily life.

Unearthing the Secrets of Mineral Sands Imagine ancient beaches, rivers, and dunes harbouring valuable mineral deposits, such as titanium, ilmenite, rutile, and zircon. Originally formed as crystals in cooling molten rock such as granite or basalt, these heavy minerals are formed from erosion by wind, rain, and rivers over millions of years. The resulting grains are washed down to the sea and tidal movements sift the heavier minerals onto beach-lines over time. These concentrated mineral sands hold a wealth of industrial applications that affect our everyday lives. Titanium dioxide is primarily used as a whitening pigment in paints, paper, toothpaste, and plastics. Zircon is primarily used in the production of ceramic products. Other applications include digital printing, dentistry, electrical components, and air and water purification systems. Mineral Sands are found in the Murray Basin and the Eucla Basin. Mined right here in SA by Iluka Resources, supporting First Nations employment through its Jacinth-Ambrosia operations. What International Women’s Day means to Corrie-Lynne Watts, Community and Environment Manager at Iluka Resources.   "After working in the resources industry for the past 20 years I have encountered obstacles and setbacks, which have shaped me into who I am today.   Diversity and inclusion are critical components of our successful workplace here at Iluka. We have created an environment where employees can not only be themselves at work but know they are also valued for their unique contributions and diversity of thought. We all have different life experiences, come from unique cultures and upbringings, and it’s the variety of perspectives that enrich our workplace and lead to our greatest successes.   With International Women’s Day, it is a day for us to celebrate and acknowledge the achievements of women and the progress we have made. With unity, we can continue to create a world where every woman, regardless of her circumstances or background, has the opportunity to thrive to her full potential. I am committed to contributing to and promoting a positive, inclusive and diverse culture here at Iluka, not just on International Women’s Day, but every day."   #IWD2024 Corrie Watts #careerwa #jobswa #diversity #inclusion #internationalwomensday2024
