🛰️ "Three for Three!" Our third satellite is now in orbit, solidifying our expertise and strengthening Australia's sovereign space capabilities! 🛰️ The Buccaneer Main Mission (BMM) was successfully launched on Saturday (Australian time) onboard SpaceX's Transporter-13 mission from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, USA. Now in orbit, first contact was made within a few seconds of the first pass. 🌟 The overall health of the platform and all systems onboard the satellite are nominal, solar panels are generating power, and all 4 UHF antenna elements deployed on first attempt! 🌟 Steady communications have been established throughout all the passes from launch day, ensuring a command & data handling process exceeding industry standards! Starting this week the team will be continuing the commissioning of BMM from the mission control centre at the Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG), South Australia.🛰 The main objective of the Buccaneer Main Mission is to collect high-frequency (HF) measurements in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) to better understand radio-frequency (RF) propagation through the ionosphere! BMM is a mission of the DSTG supported by Inovor’s provision of a spacecraft bus and operations experience. Buccaneer is a testament to the power of collaboration in space and defence. A huge thank you to everyone involved, especially our incredible partners at DSTG in making this achievement possible—this is just the beginning of what’s to come! 🌍🛰️ Photo credits: On Friday, March 14 at 11:43 p.m. PT, SpaceX launched the Transporter-13 mission to orbit from Space Launch Complex 4E (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. This achievement is a testament to the hard work, expertise, and dedication of our incredible team, who continue to push the boundaries of Australian space capability. From our first satellite to now, each mission has been a stepping stone—refining our technology, strengthening our partnerships, and solidifying our position as a leader in Australian satellite manufacturing. This latest launch is not just a milestone; it’s a reminder of how far we’ve come and the exciting future ahead. We can’t wait to share more details soon. Here’s to many more missions to come! 🚀✨ #InovorTech #AustraliaInSpace #BMM #ProudMoment #SpaceInnovation
Ready for launch! 🚀 🛰️ #Defence is flying to space! The Buccaneer Main Mission developed by Defence Science and Technology Group was integrated into the SpaceX launch stack in early 2025 and is awaiting launch. The main objective of the Buccaneer Main Mission is to collect high-frequency (HF) measurements in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) to better understand radio-frequency (RF) propagation through the ionosphere. The satellite bus was designed by local Adelaide company Inovor Technologies. Integration and space qualification tests of the flight model spacecraft occurred over the past year led by DSTG scientists and engineers at #DSTG Edinburgh in Adelaide, before the team shipped the spacecraft to California where final checks were performed and the spacecraft was inserted into its launch dispenser with the SEOPS team. Launch will take place soon on the SpaceX Transporter-13 Falcon 9 through an international collaboration with the United States Department of Defense Space Test Program.

Great companies aren't built by individuals, they're built by incredible teams. And the best teams? They're made up of people who can challenge you, push boundaries, and bring fresh perspectives to the table... 🏢 As Chief Operating officer, I always welcome new ideas and perspectives, and one of the best ways to achieve this is hiring people smarter than me. The fundamental strength of a company lies in its people, and that’s why our hiring process, especially through our #internship program, is so important to us. We don’t just look for talent; we look for those who challenge us, teach us, and grow with us. 💡 Our summer intern cohort this year was a shining example of this philosophy. We aim for high retention, but whether our interns stay with us or move on to other opportunities, seeing their success is a privilege. Internships aren’t just about gaining experience, they allow us to truly see how someone works, interacts, and thrives under real-world conditions. After all, a one-on-one interview can only reveal so much. The reality is that 99 out of 100 candidates will be nervous in a formal interview setting. That’s not the best way to determine how they handle pressure, meet deadlines, or collaborate with a team. What do we look for? Initiative, curiosity, and the ability to represent Inovor professionally in front of stakeholders. The wrong hire isn’t just a misstep for the company- it’s a disservice to the individual, not to mention lost productivity for the team and added pressure on line managers. That’s why we take the hiring process seriously, ensuring that we bring in people who align with our values. ♾️ Perfection is subjective, but one value I’ve embedded into Inovor’s culture is to 'Be Unique'. We encourage individuality, and most importantly, we back each other. These principles are the foundation of our success, and they will continue to shape our future. Kudos to our 2024/25 summer interns, you have all left a mark here, and I have no doubt that your futures are bright. Wishing you all the best in your journeys ahead! 👏 Read more about their story at Inovor here: https://lnkd.in/gkTnbkDp Inovor Technologies | Defence Trailblazer | Australian Space Agency | University of Adelaide | Monash University | Oliver Lancaster | Relcy Ruzario | Abdullah Tahir | Oveena Widyaratne | Space Industry Association of Australia #InovorTech #SatelliteManufacturing #CompanyCulture #Internships #Leadership #STEMCareers #AustralianSpaceIndustry #Teamwork #HiringSuccess

They come to learn, they leave to lead... who are they? 🛰️ A strong internship program isn’t just about learning the ropes, it’s about getting stuck into real work, asking tough questions, and thinking differently. That’s exactly what our 2024/25 Summer Interns did, and we couldn’t be prouder! At Inovor, we live by our values: 🔹 Be Unique: Fresh ideas drive innovation. 🔹 Question and Challenge: The best solutions start with the right questions. 🔹 Listen, Learn, and Inspire: Knowledge grows when we share it. 🔹 Back Each Other at All Times: Great work happens when we support each other. 🔹 The Time is Now: No waiting around, let’s make things happen! A huge thank you to the team at the Defence Trailblazer for providing scholarships that allowed our 2024 Summer Interns to gain hands-on experience at Inovor. This support gave them the opportunity to work on real projects, develop key skills, and engage with the industry. During their time at Inovor, they also had the incredible opportunity to visit our friends at Neumann Space, Southern Launch, Myriota, Equatorial Launch Australia (ELA) and QuantX Labs. A huge thanks to these teams for welcoming them and giving them a broader perspective on the space and defense industry! To Oveena Widyaratne, Oliver Lancaster, Relcy Ruzario, and Abdullah Tahir - we hope you had a great time and wish you all the best for the future! And to our mentors – Kavindi De Silva, Luke Air, Daniel Newman, and Daniel Wardle - thank you for making this experience worthwhile. Your leadership, guidance, and support helped shape an internship that wasn’t just educational, but genuinely exciting.
