🛰️ On Wednesday we took a group of University of Adelaide undergraduate students to Inovor Technologies for a site visit! 🛰️ The cohort was welcomed by Chief Operating Officer Ben Adams, who went over their current projects, then had a presentation on software from Spacecraft Software Engineer Sam B. We then moved into the lab area and heard from Mechanical & Systems Spacecraft Engineer Daniel Schoell and Electrical Engineering Team Lead Dan Esparon. Then a panel including both Daniel, Dan, Modelling & Simulation Engineer Hayley Richardson and Software Engineer Hugh Prescott spoke about their pathways through internships and how they stepped into their current roles at Inovor. Last week we had the pleasure of hosting a delegation representing the Swedish Defence Ministry and the Swedish Defence Research Agency alongside a group of representatives from the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG). This #WorldSpaceWeek, we celebrate South Australia’s valuable contribution to tackling #climatechange through its first state-owned and manufactured satellite #Kanyini 🛰 Recently launched into orbit, #Kanyini will enhance environmental monitoring on Earth and deliver critical space data to governments and research institutes, with a focus on sustainability and climate impacts. Kanyini is the result of innovation and collaboration between SmartSat CRC, Inovor Technologies and Myriota, and will play a key role in mitigating bushfire risks, monitoring urban heat islands and improving the accuracy of forecasts of natural calamities such as flooding and landslides. In-space propulsion company Neumann Space and satellite builder Inovor Technologies will work together on the development of the Neumann Drive propulsion system for Inovor’s growing range of satellite bus platforms. The Neumann Drive, an electric propulsion system based on solid metal propellants, has previously been demonstrated successfully aboard the SpIRIT (Space Industry – Responsive – Intelligent – Thermal) nanosatellite which is hosted on an Inovor 6U Bus platform. Inovor Technologies’ CEO Dr Matthew Tetlow said: “The successful demonstration of the Neumann Drive aboard SpIRIT marked a significant step forward, and we are excited to leverage this technology across our Apogee and Australis bus platforms."
