    On International Women's Day, I want to celebrate a few of the outstanding women in Australian industry. When I reflect on the historical cost of overlooking half of our nation’s leaders, I think of the opportunities lost. We’ve come a long way but there's still plenty more progress that must be made. Join me in congratulating these women, and in pushing for a more inclusive and equitable future for everyone. When equality is at the heart of a community, everyone wins. Read on to discover more about their careers... Robyn Denholm Robyn was born in Milperra in Sydney and grew up helping her parents run a petrol station where she developed a passion for cars. She graduated from Sydney Uni with an Economics degree before gaining a Masters in Commerce from UNSW. She is currently the Chair of Tesla Inc. but importantly for Australia, she’s leading a panel of experts who are looking at how to secure Australia's future prosperity by strengthening our R&D ecosystem. Anna-Maria Arabia, OAM Anna-Maria’s contribution to Science was recognised in this year’s Australia Day Honours. She began her professional life as a neuroscientist which has informed her work as her career moved into policy and organisational leadership. Anna-Maria has held several senior executive positions in the science sector as CEO of Science and Technology Australia and Deputy Director at Questacon – the National Science and Technology Centre. In her current role as CEO of the Australian Academy of Science, Anna-Maria is a passionate advocate for science, social justice, diversity and inclusion. Flavia Tata Nardini Flavia Tata Nardini is the co-founder and CEO of South Australia-based, Fleet Space Technologies. Flavia was born in Rome, Italy where she completed a Masters in Aerospace Engineering before embarking on a career at the European Space Agency, specialising in rocket propulsion technology. After relocating to Adelaide, Flavia has been integral in the establishment of Australia's space industry. Her current work aims to establish a constellation of small satellites to help mining and defence operations. Marghanita Johnson Marghanita has served as the CEO of the Australian Aluminium Council since 2019, and has over 25 years experience in the Australian mining and manufacturing sectors. She’s led Government Engagement and Advocacy at the mining giant Rio Tinto, and is a graduate of the University of Western Australia, holding degrees in Environmental Engineering and Chemistry. Jenny Kruschel Jenny began her career as a sewing machinist in the textile industry. After taking a career break to raise her children, she returned to work and became deeply involved in the Construction, Forestry and Maritime Employees Union (CFMEU) and is currently the National Secretary of its Manufacturing division. The CFMEU is one of the largest blue-collar unions in Australia and Jenny is a passionate advocate for workers' rights.
