Plasma Propulsion for Your Mission
About us
Neumann Space is an Australian company developing an efficient and scalable in-space electric propulsion system for satellites. The Neumann Space thruster marks a revolution in the field of satellite propulsion. Our lightweight products use our patented Centre-Triggered Pulsed Cathodic Arc Thruster (CT-PCAT) technology to convert solid conductive propellants into plasma and produce thrust. Our product range creates value for our customers in all space operations and travel. For example, our thruster can fulfil all requirements for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) mission profiles such as extending mission lifetimes, station keeping, orbit raising, constellation phasing, inclination changes, de-orbiting and more.

Congratulating the Kanyini team on the successful #satellite launch for South Australia. 🚀 Well done to our partners and friends Inovor Technologies, Myriota, Cingulan Space (Ground Station), South Australian Space Industry Centre, SmartSat CRC and the many other partners. #australianspacetechnology #australianmanufacturing
🛰 Kanyini is soaring beyond our expectations🎉 On the 17th of August, Kanyini was not only successfully launched to space by SpaceX but as of today (19th August) is also healthy and thriving! All systems onboard the satellite are nominal, and Kanyini is soaring beyond our expectations. 🌟 Steady communications have been established from launch day, ensuring a command & data handling process that exceeds industry standards. All 12 passes thus far have ranged from 1.7 degrees max elevation up to 71 degrees! 🌟 The system has logged 200k points of telemetry so far with an impressive 100% availability! 🌟 All the telemetry looks positive and none of the subsystems have reported any critical logs since launch! Throughout this week the team will be working on further assessing the subsystems commence the official start of commissioning Kanyini 🛰 A big shout out to all the partners involved in the first ever state-owned satellite mission of Australia for making this dream a reality! Neumann Space reached a significant milestone last week, which will see the #NeumannDrive ND-50 fly on the #EDISON mission, set to launch aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 in November 2024. Following integration of our propulsion system in Aalborg, Denmark, our partner Space Inventor successfully completed the crucial European Space Agency - ESA Flight Acceptance Review (FAR) for its EDISON spacecraft. Funded by ESA under the innovative Pioneer program, this mission aims to evaluate and support qualified providers of pioneering space-based services. This flight will be the inaugural in-orbit demonstration of the ND-50. This Electric Propulsion system includes significant improvements on our first-generation Neumann Drive which gained flight heritage in 2023. A big thank you to the teams at Space Inventor and Neumann Space for their fantastic collaboration. #SpaceInventor, Australian Space Agency, Department of Industry, Science and Resources, #ElectricPropulsion

Thanks to The Aerospace Corporation and NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration for inviting us to present the DiskSat modular Neumann Drive solution. This flat version of our Electric Propulsion system is uniquely suited for thin flat satellite and also offers flexibility for integration into more traditional satellites. We look forward to bringing the real hardware version next year. #SmallSat2024 #ElectricPropulsion #DiskSat

Great to have our Chief Engineer, Steven Despotellis, presenting the work we do on "Electromagnetic Interactions (EMI) Test Procedure for a Centre-Triggered Pulsed Cathodic Arc Thruster" at #SmallSat2024. This project involves testing the #NeumannDrive with our partners, the French National Space Agency CNES and REDARC Defence & Space. Bringing the best in the business for their expertise on EMI, testing and Electric Propulsion and sharing with the community is another great example of how we jointly develop the Space industry and build better products for our customers.
