    I realise that there is possibly a generational disconnect by some who read this article. It basically says that Gen Z's are disconnected from their workplace and this leads to burnout. I think you could insert any generation in their 20's into this situation. I remember I was looking for my place in the working world in my 20's and experimented with running my own business and changing industries. I was in search for meaning. Many of my peers were very comfortable staying in one job, one industry, because it was secure, but they were always complaining about their job. But they hung in because it was what most people did. Today, the situation is not too different as far as the 20 somethings are concerned. They have the same fears and concerns, aspirations and goals, as I had then. The difference is they have a social construct that tells them it's as "easy as this". And when reality hits, that life isn't as easy as what the influencer said it would be, they get disheartened. Naturally. "What am I doing wrong?" My answer is you are comparing yourself as opposed to looking for your own, dare I say 'purpose' And, in the the workplace, the old competative model of pitting employee against employee as 'motivation' isn't working. It probably never did. On a positive note, the people who I have had conversations with for the relaunch of my Podcast have given me hope that the business owners of today are including their employees into their calculations of what makes their business exceptional. But confusing these roles can lead to miscommunication and inefficiency.
