🌏 A major win for the Great Artesian Basin (GAB) and food security! 👏 Well done to AgForce Queensland and Michael Guerin for leading the charge on an issue that all Australians should be aware of. AgForce has taken decisive action to halt Glencore/CTSCo’s risky proposal to pump liquid carbon dioxide waste straight into the GAB. The GAB is one of the largest underground freshwater reservoirs in the world, essential for food security, regional communities, and diverse ecosystems across Australia. This victory not only protects the GAB from immediate harm but also sets the stage for stronger federal policies to safeguard it against future threats. At IIF we have thousands of members with farms that stretch from Tasmania to the top end, and many rely on the GAB to survive and thrive. 👏 Kudos to AgForce for spearheading this critical fight.
