The Raising Horizons pilot program is officially off the ground. Jet Zero Australia and Airbus have partnered with NRL Cowboys House, and last week, conducted a visit to Townsville alongside Gunggandji Aerospace to talk to young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students about a future in aviation. Our team of Angela Lloyd-Jones, Jacqueline Mason, and Mattison May attended the event, which is about encouraging students, especially girls, to extend their aspirations to a range of careers in aviation. It takes a whole crew to get a plane off the ground: air traffic controllers, mechanical engineers, logistics, and more. The students were happy to participate in aviation-themed activities and games, plus learn about sustainable aviation fuel and the future career pathways available at Jet Zero Australia. We’re excited to work alongside the next generation of Indigenous young people in Townsville. #saf #womeninaviation #raisinghorizons #townsville

Developing Australia's Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Industry
About us
Jet Zero Australia is a leading-edge Australian bioenergy company established to produce Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), and driven by our determination to build a better Australia today. Our vision is to be at the forefront of the emission reduction revolution, with plans progressing to develop Australia’s first Alcohol to Jet Fuel (ATJ) facility, taking surplus ethanol production from agricultural and sugarcane by-products, and converting it to SAF via a plant to be built in Queensland. One of the world’s largest gatherings of clean energy professionals took place last week at the All Energy Australia event in Melbourne. Mac Irvine, CFO, presented Jet Zero Australia’s insights on decarbonising the hard-to-abate aviation industry in Australia with SAF. All Energy Australia is the essential platform for anyone committed to advancing the transition to a sustainable energy future. #saf #AllEnergyAU #cleanenergy

Join us in Townsville for Jet Zero Australia's Community Open Days over six locations across two big days 8 and 9 November. Our flagship Project Ulysses based in Townsville will produce 113 million litres of sustainable fuels, including sustainable aviation fuel (#SAF) and renewable diesel (RD) for the Australian market once completed. The Open Day events are an opportunity for you to meet the Jet Zero team and ask any questions your might have about the project and how we plan to deliver it. Everyone is welcome and we will be providing light refreshments and family-friendly entertainment at each event. The Jet Zero team look forward to seeing you then. #Townsville #SustainableAviationFuel #SAF #CommunityFirst

Excitement filled the room for Corporate Jet Investor's 11th edition on 16-18 September at the Shangri-La Singapore and Jet Zero Australia was pleased to play a role. Over fifty speakers participated, including Jet Zero's CFO, Mac Irvine, who offered key insights about the Asian business aviation market. As part of the “Perspectives from Innovators in SAF” panel, Mac shared Jet Zero Australia’s unique perspective as a leading Asia-Pacific sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) project developer, exploring the market outlook, and how policy interventions from governments in the region are driving the market's development (including in Singapore, Japan, and elsewhere in South East Asia). We were in good company, with other experts presenting their findings on book-and-claim systems, SAF certification, and fuel blending. It was a great opportunity to connect with engineers, producers, and stakeholders across the region. #apac #saf #aviationnetworking #corporatejetinvestor #aviationindustry #australianaviation

CANEGROWERS Australia have gone live with their Growth for Generations campaign, calling on the community and policymakers to get behind the development of the new sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) industry. Jet Zero Australia are proud to be a supporter of CANEGROWERS who are championing a new industry built with the help of high-quality Queensland sugarcane. Get involved with Growth for Generations now and support Queensland’s sustainable, prosperous future from farm to fuel. Sugarcane has the ability to absorb more carbon from the atmosphere than other crops. Research shows that the average sugarcane farm of 100 hectares can sequestrate up to 66 tonnes of CO2 per year while many other crops sequestrate comparatively little or no CO2. According to ARENA's Bioenergy Roadmap, by 2030 a domestic SAF industry could be worth $10 billion in extra annual GDP and could create up to 26,200 jobs, with regional Australia positioned to receive most of those new jobs where SAF production is derived from domestic agricultural feedstocks, such as sugarcane. With the right government policies, sugarcane’s full potential can be unlocked, creating thousands of new jobs, and helping Australia meet its greenhouse gas reduction goals, all while maintaining and expanding our current raw sugar supply chains. And we're off! Jet Zero Australia was in this beautiful location to support this year’s Mission Beach Outrigging event and Vaka Race. Led this year by our Executive Manager Neil Gardner, we're thrilled to engage with such a large and diverse community in the heart of sugarcane country. The connections that we are deepening through community partnerships are at the heart of what we do. We're a company that began from a desire to improve the livelihoods of the communities that we operate in Queensland's north. Jet Zero is developing a connection spanning land to sea in Far North Queensland through community sponsorships and engagement. Our flagship Project Ulysses will create jobs, diversify local industry, and ensure that there is ample opportunity for people in these regions for generations to come. #saf #sustainableaviationfuel #biofuels #sustainability #fnq

Last week’s Jet Zero Australia announcement is a milestone for the development of the domestic sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) industry, as well as a strong vote of confidence in our project, team and partners. The $14 million in joint grant funding awarded by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) and the Queensland Government is a kickstart to an industry projected to become a thriving source of long-term regional employment and value add to the Australian economy. Jet Zero Australia's Project Ulysses will contribute to the development of an industry worth $10 billion in extra annual GDP by 2030, including 26,200 new jobs, most of which will be in regional Australia. The biorefinery based in Townsville will enhance our fuel security in a region strategically important for Australia's defence forces. Our strategic partners Idemitsu Kosan Co.,Ltd., Qantas and Airbus, along with our technology partner LanzaJet, have made this undertaking possible through their long-term commitment to the SAF industry and Jet Zero Australia. Together we are supporting the transition to a more sustainable, innovative and secure Australian economy. #saf #sustainability #queensland #biofuels #aviation

Jet Zero Australia has taken a crucial next step in creating a future with sustainable aviation fuel through a formalisation of our partnership with LONG Energy and Resources Australia. This will solidify a greater collaboration on SAF between the two parties, noting that LONG Energy and Resources Australia has successfully acted as Owner's Engineer for Jet Zero Australia over the last two years. The company has an extensive track record of successful engineering and project delivery across both green and brownfield sites in Australia, with a portfolio spanning the chemicals, oil & gas, energy, and renewable sectors. This partnership represents a significant leap forward in driving sustainable energy solutions for aviation and creating long-term value for Australia’s future in fuel.

Australia's thriving tallow sector was in the spotlight at the Australian Renderers Association (ARA) symposium in Brisbane. Jet Zero's General Manager David Johnston presented surrounded by other key international players in the sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) industry. Keeping on top of industry insights is essential in such a dynamic field. David spoke about the opportunity in HEFA (hydrogenated esters and fatty acids) pathways for refining sustainable aviation fuel. Jet Zero Australia have previously announced a joint venture with Apeiron Bioenergy, backed by Enterprise Singapore and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, to explore HEFA feedstock opportunity in Australia under our Project Mandala. HEFA is currently the most mature and commercially proven pathway to low-emissions jet fuel. Australia’s large livestock processing industry offers a valuable pathway for the use of tallow as feedstock in the near-term.
