Your first flight piloting a Dash 8 to conduct aerial surveillance is always an exciting one! Harrison, one of our new Darwin-based pilots (and a graduate of RMIT University), successfully conducted his first flight as Dash 8 First Officer this month. Prior to joining our flight operations team as a commercial pilot, Harrison was in a mission aircrew role on our Challenger 604 fleet where he played a pivotal role in saving and assisting lives. His journey into the pointy end of the aircraft showcases the opportunity that exists within aviation to progress your career and explore new possibilities. ❤ Supporting our communities ❤ Lee Jarvis is a Drop Master in our Essendon Search and Rescue team. His 4 year old daughter Kiani has been receiving treatment for leukaemia for the past 18 months, and his family has been greatly supported during this time by Challenge – supporting kids with cancer. We wanted to do whatever we could to show our support of Lee and his family. Through two separate initiatives, the team at Leidos Australia has raised funds for Challenge so they can not only continue to support Lee and his family, but other families facing a similarly difficult time. Through our Essendon Community Fund and a national Hawaiian Shirt Fundraiser, Leidos Australia and its team members have raised more than $6000 for Challenge. 🎉 Challenge CEO David and Operations Manager Steve visited our Base this week to catch up with Lee, Kiani and family, and to receive these funds from us so they can continue the wonderful and very important work that they do. Kiani was so excited about visiting “Daddy’s work” and couldn’t stop talking about her visit when she got home!
