This quarter, the LiveMine Solutions team took on a seriously intense sport… LAWN BOWLS! Bud kept his winning streak alive, claiming victory yet again. He says it's all thanks to his iron forearms from years on the jumbo 💪, but the rest of the team think it might have more to do with being the only person over 50 👴 Always the gracious champ, he even treated everyone to burgers afterward! 🍔 What’s your guess? Why did Bud win? 🤣 #LiveMineSolutions #TeamLiveMine #TeamBonding

Some exciting predictions on UG mining! 👷♂️ Great insights from our MD Bud O'Shannessy who has one foot in both the mining and the tech worlds. The importance of upskilling site-based personnel to handle technology evolutions is often overlooked with conversations instead focusing on the benefits of automation, which while exciting, is still some time away from becoming mainstream. Nice to see the focus put back on the operators! #MiningSoftware #FutureOfMining #Automation
What will Underground Mining look like in 5 Years? 👩💻 I’m often asked where underground mining is headed. After 25 years working underground and 6 years building mining tech, I’ve never seen innovations advancing as quickly as they are today. It’s not just about implementing new technologies anymore, it’s about truly understanding how to leverage them for maximum impact. This includes designated personnel to support and manage this technology. Over the next 5 years, I expect underground mines to become smarter, safer and more connected. AI will transform hardware and sensors into powerful real-time monitoring systems, driving predictive maintenance, reducing downtime, and boosting productivity. At the heart of this transformation, I see stable underground WiFi capability becoming mainstream, bringing the underground out of the dark and online. This is something that needs to happen. Collision avoidance, machine integration, and operator monitoring are on the rise, especially with the strides companies like RaptorTech out of Perth are making. Radio call up systems and paper? They’ll be relics of the past as their limitations are becoming more apparent every year. These technologies aren’t just game-changers, they’re key to optimising operations and improving safety. Some may even become mandatory in the near future as their significance to safety is proven. Collision avoidance is a great example of this. Australia is leading this revolution, with the large Miners and Underground contractors investing in preparing their workforce for what’s next. I do believe full autonomous mining is still a long way off, so a tech-savvy workforce will be essential to operating, maintaining and supporting these systems. But what do you think? Which technologies will have the biggest impact? #MiningTech #FutureOfMining #UndergroundMining #SafetyInMining

We survived Miner V Wild! ⛏ 💪 What an adventure! We all made it through unscathed after some very hot days and a tough trek. Along the way, we created unforgettable memories and even managed to catch plenty of barramundi! 🎣 It was an incredible experience with an awesome group of people, but our mission isn’t over yet. There’s still time to donate and support this important cause. Click the link to contribute: https://lnkd.in/gF_m4SQe Thank you for all your support!
