Magnetite Mines has been featured in Australian Resources & Investment’s latest article, "Iron Ore Rising Stars Outside of WA." The piece highlights our Razorback Iron Ore Project as a key enabler for green iron production in South Australia, with 3.2 billion tonnes of magnetite located close to existing infrastructure and a consortium of key industry partners.
“Australia’s iron ore sector has traditionally been dominated by Western Australia, but emerging projects and investment in states across the country are starting to reshape the landscape, diversifying the country’s mining portfolio and boosting its competitive edge in the global market.
The Razorback Iron Ore Project, located in South Australia’s Braemar iron province, is a significant development managed by Magnetite Mines.
The project focuses on producing high-grade magnetite products, with mineral resources estimated at 3.2 billion tonnes. It’s strategic location offers access to existing infrastructure, including railways and ports, facilitating efficient export routes to international markets.
Magnetite Mines is also advocating for national initiatives to promote green iron production. This has seen the company collaborate with industry partners to establish South Australia as a major green iron supplier through the consortium, Green Iron SA. This initiative aims to utilise the state’s magnetite resources and renewable energy to produce green iron, significantly reducing emissions in steelmaking.”
