About us

Mary MacKillop College proudly honours its founding values, reflecting the courage and leadership of Australia’s first saint to instil in each student a passion for personal excellence and the confidence to design their own pathway to success. Driven by the pursuit for social justice and a quality education for all, Mary MacKillop College’s Josephite heritage inspires girls to show compassion and embrace opportunities to shine academically, spiritually and socially. They are active and involved in their learning - motivated to know more, challenged to do more and always striving to be more. Every MacKillop girl receives a strong academic education, elevated by the connection and commitment at the heart of our community. Our passionate and innovative staff energise young hearts and minds - just as Mary herself did so tirelessly. The modern classrooms and contemporary facilities of the College today still provide access to the Chapel and Convent grounds where Mary lived and worked to promote educational opportunities for girls in the late 1800s. Our relatively small community ensures strong and enduring relationships are developed right from the start. It is on the strength of this mutual respect and real sense of belonging that Mary MacKillop College provides such quality teaching and learning. Guided by our motto, “In All Things Love”, we can understand and advance the uniqueness and potential of each young woman, regardless of culture or faith. Academic excellence forms only part of a successful, holistic journey for our students. At Mary MacKillop College every student is inspired and equipped to face the future with confidence and resilience. In the words of Saint Mary, “Never see a need without doing something about It.” With this sense of service and strength in learning, MacKillop girls build their own futures – and they do so with compassion and an enduring courage to lead.

We are so proud of Eloisia D’Ambrosio, a talented alumna from Mary MacKillop College, who featured in yesterday's Sunday Mail! Eloisia, the creative force behind San Leucio Designs, is an Adelaide-based fashion designer who channels her heritage into every piece. Growing up surrounded by the craftsmanship of her late nonno, a tailor and late nonna, a dressmaker, it is no surprise that fashion design runs in her blood!@_s After studying fashion at TAFE, Eloisia launched her own label, San Leucio, last year – and she’s been making waves ever since. Proudly working from home, she continues to create stunning designs that reflect her passion and legacy. Congratulations, Eloisia! We look forward seeing where your incredible talent takes you next!anl @_sanleucio https://lnkd.in/gESDCkSb Photo credit: Mary MacKillop College and Brett Hartwig for the Advertiser. #MacKillopGirlsAchieve #RaisingHeartsAndMinds #ProudToBeMacKillop #MMC #BeAMacKillopGirl #CourageToLead #MaryMacKillopCollege #AlumnaSpotlight #SanLeucioDesigns #FashionDesigner #AdelaideFashion #EloisiaDAmbrosio

  • 𝗔𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗻𝗮𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁: 𝗧𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗔𝗯𝗶 𝗔𝗯𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗵, 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟲 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗞𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗽 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗮𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘀: 𝗔 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 I graduated from Mary MacKillop College in 2006—hard to believe it’s been over 18 years! After finishing school, I pursued a Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences at Adelaide University. I became involved in several fascinating medical research projects, but I quickly realised that working in a lab with a small team and genetically engineered mice did not suit my personality! After speaking with one of my lecturers at Adelaide University, I was encouraged to consider postgraduate medicine. I completed my undergraduate degree, studied for the GAMSAT and, after a couple of attempts, successfully gained entry into postgraduate medical studies at Flinders University. With my love for science, solving puzzles and working collaboratively to help others, I discovered my true calling in medicine. My medical degree gave me incredible opportunities to travel across South Australia, the Northern Territory and even overseas to New Zealand and the USA. After graduating, my partner Ben and I moved to Darwin to begin our medical careers as interns. We spent two years in Darwin before relocating to Sydney to complete our training. Today, Ben is a Palliative Care and General Physician, while I am a Paediatrician working towards becoming an Emergency Specialist. Along the way, I’ve been privileged to meet so many remarkable and inspiring people—both patients and colleagues—and I’m incredibly grateful for the journey so far. In 2021, we returned to Darwin, driven by the hope that our knowledge and skills could make a difference for those in need. We cherish the vibrant tropical lifestyle Darwin offers and are deeply committed to regional and remote medicine, with a strong focus on improving the health of our First Nations patients. This year marks a decade since I became a doctor—a journey that, while challenging and sometimes arduous, has been incredibly fulfilling. I find immense joy in helping children in need, treating their illnesses, connecting with them and bringing a smile to their faces, even when they’re feeling unwell. The work of Mary MacKillop in educating children in regional and remote communities has been a profound inspiration to me. I hope to continue serving with her spirit and dedication in mind. #MacKillopGirlsAchieve #ProudToBeMacKillop #CourageToLead #BeAMacKillopGirl #connected #grateful #StMaryOfTheCrossMacKillop #MaryMacKillop #community #Belonging #InAllThingsLove #InOmnibusCaritas #MaryMacKillopCollegeKensington #MaryMacKillopCollege #MMC #RaisingHeartsAndMinds

This holiday season we’re celebrating the magic of girls’ schools — from the perspective of girls themselves! Nearly 2,500 students from member schools around the world weighed in on what they love about attending a girls’ school. We are so inspired by the shared community, empowerment, and joy girls feel in schools designed just for them. A heartfelt thank-you to the students who contributed such thoughtful reflections and to our member schools for their unwavering dedication to educating and advocating for girls. 🎨 beautifully illustrated by Jo Byrne of See Your Words

Located on High Street, Kensington, the Mary MacKillop College Tenison Centre reflects the College’s approach to contemporary pedagogy, creating a new and activated frontage to the campus’ neighbourhood interface. The intent is a visually sensitive approach to the adjoining residences and historic character, reflecting subtle colour, proportion and aesthetic. Setback from the High Street boundary the form and materiality of the building has been carefully curated to ensure the design compliments the existing architecture within the campus but also retains privacy and passive movement into the new student courtyard. The understated palette, featuring a blend of masonry, glass, and lightweight cladding, allows the structure to blend harmoniously into its surroundings, showcasing a sense of quality and craftsmanship. • 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸, 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮 𝗞𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗺𝗮𝗻! Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome back to the College alumna Jacinta Kracman, Class of 2014. After graduating from the University of Adelaide, Jacinta moved to Perth, where she is now pursuing her dream career as an environmental engineer with Woodside Energy. Jacinta was a diligent student, a valued member of the Senior Leadership Team and an avid sportswoman, even coaching sports teams as an old scholar. With English, Mathematics and Chemistry amongst her favourite subjects, Jacinta was always determined to give her best effort, no matter how challenging the task. Jacinta's visit highlights the significance of memories, connection and how a Mary MacKillop College education fosters the exploration of diverse pathways. Jacinta, like many other alumnae, is courageously and resiliently pursuing her dreams in the true spirit of St Mary MacKillop.
