About us

MediRecords is Australia’s leading cloud-hosted patient management platform, operating nationally across the government and private sectors. A trusted partner to healthcare organisations, MediRecords services the needs of doctors, specialists, multidisciplinary clinics and hospitals providing virtual and/or face-to-face care. The MediRecords platform seamlessly connects clinicians, patients and partner organisations, removing barriers to data interoperability with our secure, open and connected architecture. Our Connect platform offers API and FHIR connectivity, and we use SNOMED terminology coding to simplify data exchange with other systems. We believe better access to health care data enables better patient health outcomes. Founded in 2014, MediRecords was created to improve patient care while reducing costs associated with outdated technology. We work closely with our community members, patients, partners, and fellow innovators to continue improving the way healthcare is delivered for all. As industry pioneers, we are innovative, forward-thinking and dedicated to powering digital health with next generation cloud connectivity.

This October, MediRecords is supporting the Black Dog Institute’s One Foot Forward initiative. As we approach the halfway mark, there’s still time to join us in making a difference by participating in making your steps count, or by donating to help fund new mental health treatments, education, and digital services. It's estimated the average human will spend up to a third of their waking life at work. That's a big chunk of time, so a safe and supportive work environment is super important.   This #WorldMentalHealthDay emphasises the importance of mental health in the workplace and encourages stakeholders to engage in meaningful discussions about what more can be done to make mental health care a reality for everyone. It's also a reminder for employees to feel empowered to access mental health care whenever needed, without fear of stigma or judgement.   MediRecords is proud to support a wide range of healthcare professionals caring for individuals experiencing mental ill health across Australia. Our capabilities include standard assessments, electronic prescribing for faster access to medication, telehealth integration and holistic health records for outpatient and inpatient care.   Let’s continue to foster work environments, where everyone feels safe and supported to seek the mental health care they need, when they need it 💚   For more information and resources on World Mental Health Day, visit here - https://lnkd.in/gAH5P3QB #mentalhealthIntheworkplace #workplacewellbeing #mentalhealth #breakthestigma World Health Organization

This week, MediRecords had the honour of attending the International Committee of Military Medicine (ICMM) event. Our Founder and CEO, Matthew Galetto, had the opportunity to share key learnings from our experience at MediRecords in deploying a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) electronic health record for Defence healthcare. He shared valuable insights into what we’ve learned along the way: Adopt vs. Adapt: Adopting a COTS solution gets you up and running faster. Customising can slow you down and lead to higher costs—not to mention you might miss out on future updates. Know Your Users: Defence clinicians want something familiar and easy to use. Cloud-based solutions let them work from anywhere with minimal training, which helps drive adoption. Primary Care is Key: The GP is at the heart of a patient’s care, managing everything from chronic conditions to specialist referrals. A system that supports this role is essential. Mental Health Matters: With the growing focus on mental health, it’s vital to have a system that integrates primary, allied, and mental health care, ensuring continuity and safety. Readiness Through Rehabilitation: Keeping personnel fit for deployment means managing everything from injury rehab to vaccinations. Flexibility is key to supporting workforce health initiatives. Engaging the Patient: A good COTS platform makes it easy to keep service members engaged in their care, through personalised treatment plans, reminders, and alerts. Data Sharing: A system that supports seamless data sharing is critical for informed decision-making and keeping everyone on the same page, from enlistment to discharge. Matthew said, “COTS solutions are the way forward for Defence healthcare, providing agile, connected systems without the need for expensive custom builds. A big shout out to the ICMM organisers for providing the opportunity to share these lessons and join the conversation about the future of military healthcare.” #DefenceHealthcare #COTS #DigitalHealth #MilitaryMedicine #PrimaryCare #ICMM2024

Sexual Health Month is a great time to reflect on the latest research in sexual and reproductive health. From the growing trend of older adults accessing STI testing to gaps in contraception access for women, recent studies highlight the sexual health needs across different demographics.   Key findings include the demand for GPs to initiate sexual health conversations with older patients, barriers to accessing abortion services outside major cities, and the surge in Chlamydia cases. The message from experts like Stigma Health's James Sneddon is clear: “Get awkward.” Start conversations about STI testing—most infections show no symptoms.   For more insights on the latest studies, check out our story.   #SexualHealthMonth #STIawareness #ReproductiveHealth #PrimaryCare
