    Following a tough 2023, marketers may have been hoping for some relief in the first half of 2024.But there’s no light at the end of the tunnel yet as budgets and ROI continue on a flat trajectory. A closer look at channel trends reveals that marketers have been investing heavily in lower funnel channels to capture existing demand: a strategy that has worked in the short term. But with budgets flat, this is at the expense of demand creation at the top of the funnel — and results are already tapering. Brands must seek to make better decisions and rebalance their budgets.
