Today, The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine released a significant report from the Committee on "Focus on Myopia: Pathogenesis and Rising Incidence." This comprehensive document (375 pages!) sheds light on the growing epidemic of #myopia and addresses critical questions surrounding myopia, summarizing current knowledge while highlighting areas needing further research. I skimmed the document and compiled 10 key takeaways from the report. As we move forward, it’s crucial to integrate these findings into our practice and public health strategies. Myopia is not just a vision issue but a growing public health concern with far-reaching implications.
