With Dorado, Delphinus, and now Karl at work in San Francisco Bay, it is exciting to see Zalophus coming together with the superstructure lift and hull mating underway. Zalophus is the fourth Dorado Class high speed ferry Mavrik is building for WETA and will be delivered this summer. Like Karl, Zalophus will be powered by quad MAN 1450HP engines turning Reintjes gears and Hamilton HTX52 waterjets.

Congratulations to Mavrik Marine on the delivery of the M.V. Karl to SF Bay Ferry! There was a small weather window and the vessel was able to fly down the coast the whole way doing 39 knots. Now that is what I call an endurance trial.

👏Wow! 🛳️ Thames family business Woods' Silver Fleet supports #British #shipbuilding to lead the world in #sustainable, luxury tourism launching summer 2025 with The Tower of London River Tour. Woods' Silver Fleet yesterday announced their first #zeroemissions tourist vessel, with construction underway at Pendennis Shipyard Cornwall, England. This is part of the Clean Maritime Demonstrator Competition (CMDC 4) funded by Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom, delivered by Innovate UK as part of the National Shipbuilding Office strategy to drive growth across the UK Shipbuilding Enterprise. ℹ️ The new boat is the first of its kind in the UK, harnessing developments in ultra light weight, aluminium design and construction technology coupled with an innovative industry first all-battery drive train. Following extensive design and power profiling by Vulkan Marine the team has settled on an EST Floattech Octopus Series battery bank which will be rapid charged between each tour from a two megawatt shore charging facility (sustainable energy sources).

NEW 57M DYNARIG SAILING CATAMARAN FOR Dykstra Naval Architects ASC57: 57m Adventure Sailing Catamaran Echo Yachts has commenced construction of the ASC57, at their superyacht building facility in the Australian Marine Complex. This groundbreaking project brings together industry leaders from across the globe. In partnership with Dutch sailing yacht designers Dykstra Naval Architects and Australia's aluminium multihull experts One2three Naval Architects, the team will deliver the world's largest sailing catamaran to date. Drawing inspiration from Echo Yachts' 2023 new build motor yacht M/Y Charley 2, the ASC57 sailing yacht will feature similar luxury accommodation, a vast array of water toys, and helicopter landing capabilities. However, this super yacht introduces a twin-Dynarig sail system by Southern Spars, paired with Dykstra's sleek and refined sailing yacht aesthetics. As a result of the addition of sail power, a regenerative power system will be installed, utilising twin shaft generators and a battery storage system to allow for silent running under sail. With its hydrodynamic efficient aluminium hulls, full sail-powered propulsion, power regeneration and deployment options, the ASC57 offers significant eco-friendly performance advantages and greener modes of operation compared to traditional motor yachts. An extremely efficient aluminium hull form is complemented by twin Dynarigs providing a total sail area of some 1660 m2 for eco-efficient long range cruising. Weight reduction, simplicity and ease of operation will further characterize this project. Dykstra Naval Architects are providing the yacht's overall exterior styling, layout and naval architecture. Detailed naval architecture and structural design are being performed by Australian firm One2Three Naval Architects.

Mavrik Marine rolls out KARL for a taste of Pacific Northwest weather! KARL is in final production for delivery to San Francisco Bay Ferries. KARL is the 3rd Dorado Class high-speed catamaran ferry built at Mavrik for WETA. Designed by One2Three, powered by Quad MAN 1450HP Tier 4+ diesel engines and Hamilton Jet high performance HTX52 water jets, we expect to see KARL cruising SF Bay at over 36knots in December. Sistership Zalophus is in production at Mavrik and will be delivered in mid-2025. Congratulations to the proud craftsman of Mavrik for another great build.
