Peel - the fastest growing region in WA

About us

Western Australia’s Peel region is on the brink of exciting change. Over the next two decades it will welcome a dramatic wave of people attracted by the area’s abundant resources, picturesque environment and enviable lifestyle. This influx will establish Peel as one of the State’s biggest population centres, bring with it exciting new vibrancy and prosperity as well as challenges for the community. By 2050, Peel is expected to rival the South West as one of the most populated regions outside of Perth with a projected population of 444,000. This influx will bring with it exciting new vibrancy and prosperity as well as challenges for the community. The Peel Development Commission has embraced this challenge and has worked closely with more than 200 stakeholders to form a shared view of Peel’s future as a “Progressive, Prosperous and Dynamic Region”.

Peel offers a vibrant range of investment and growth prospects, as it continues to expand in export-oriented sectors such as manufacturing. It’s also is home to some unique local businesses like the Mandurah Indoor Rock Climbing Centre which really bring the community together- from 15-year-old James Mouton who is about to head to the Youth World Championships in China, all the way to their oldest regular climber who is 72-years old. I was delighted the Centre was among the latest round of Peel recipients of the 2024 Regional Economic Development (RED) Grants announced this week alongside Robyn Clarke MLA and Lisa Munday MLA. Their $60,000 grant will help expand the current facilities to meet the growing community demand for a safe, inclusive space for fitness and social connection. Congratulations to all the successful REDS recipients this year. The diverse range of Peel projects reflects the thriving, social and innovative work happening across the region. Since the inception of this program, the WA Labor Government has invested more than $4 million across 40 locally driven projects in Peel, helping to build a better region for the local community. With a record $10 million on offer for Round 7 'Mega REDs', we are fostering regional development that is making meaningful change, creating real jobs and diversifying regional economies. • 🏠REGISTRATION OF INTEREST (ROI) FOR SUBCONTRACTORS - HOUSING MAINTENANCE WORKS AND SERVICES DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITIES - HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO 13 NOVEMBER 2024 The Department of Communities WA is currently reviewing the way they deliver repairs and maintenance to all of the housing they manage across the State, including housing in remote Aboriginal communities. Communities are seeking Registration of Interest (ROI) by Subcontractors interested in delivering maintenance under future Head Maintenance Contracts. The resultant Subcontractor Register will be included in the subsequent RFT for Head Maintenance Contracts, for consideration in tender submissions. In addition to encouraging registration from general sub-contractors, the ROI also encourages registration by Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and Registered Aboriginal Businesses that are interested in delivering maintenance services, though may not have the capability and capacity of a Head Maintenance Contractor. The ROI survey has been extended and will be open until 13 November 2024. For more information and to complete the ROI, visit 👉https://lnkd.in/gdUSCFq4
