Back in 2018, the City of Mandurah embarked on a transformative journey with the launch of Mandurah Matters – our most ambitious Community Engagement initiative at the time. Since its inception, our community has been at the heart of every decision, actively participating in crafting Mandurah's vision for the next two decades and beyond. Through Mandurah Matters, thousands of people lent their voices to the conversation, sharing insights, aspirations, and concerns. Together, we identified four pillars that resonate deeply with our community: the local economy, environment, social connection, and health. These pillars formed the cornerstone of our Strategic Community Plan 2020-2040. The City of Mandurah follows the Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework (IPRF) set out by the Department of Local Government, Sport, and Cultural Industries. This framework fosters continuous improvement in local government strategic planning. As part of this framework, we conduct a desktop review of the Strategic Community Plan every two years and a major review, including community engagement, every four years. Our 20 year Strategic Community Plan is shaped by a combination of community engagement priorities, Council’s long-term vision, and informing strategies. It's a reflection of our community's aspirations and vision, determining the City’s direction and operations now and into the future. External and internal strategies and plans, including those by the Federal and State Government, also play a crucial role in shaping our approach. The outcomes of the Strategic Community Plan are integrated into the City of Mandurah’s four-year Corporate Business Plan. This plan outlines what we will do in areas such as asset management, financial plannings, workforce planning, annual budgets, land use, and business plans. In the spirit of our shared journey, we've meticulously incorporated feedback from the community during our “Big Check-In” into the new draft Strategic Community Plan 2024-2044. Take a look and let us know what you think at https://brnw.ch/21wIwWK before 21 April 2024. Once we have received feedback, we will finalise the document, for the City and our community to use. Under the IPRF requirements, we will continue to periodically review the 20-Year Strategic Community Plan. This comprehensive approach ensures that our community's voice remains at the forefront of every decision, shaping a vibrant, resilient, and thriving Mandurah for generations to come. Our community’s engagement, passion, and commitment are what make our community truly exceptional!
