About us
The Public-Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility – Global Infrastructure Hub advances collaboration between the public and private sectors to bridge the investment gap and improve the delivery of sustainable infrastructure. The Public-Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility (PPIAF) supports governments in strengthening policies, regulations, and institutions to enable sustainable and inclusive private sector participation in infrastructure projects. PPIAF builds capacity to expand infrastructure project delivery and services, leveraging global knowledge to generate actionable insights through its integration with the Global Infrastructure Hub (GI Hub). Established in 2014 by the G20, the GI Hub draws on its extensive network of private sector partners and works with PPIAF’s donors and clients to offer knowledge resources that drive innovations and solutions on-the-ground. Our global partners include governments, the private sector, development banks, and other international organizations. At the request of the G20 Infrastructure Working Group, PPIAF – GI Hub was relaunched in April 2024 and is hosted by the World Bank.

PPIAF recently joined the 20th High-Level Forum of the Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association (CWWA) conference in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. Our climate specialist Khafi Weekes, PhD , alongside The World Bank experts Lilia Burunciuc, Benoit Bosquet, David Michaud, JB Collier, Lilian Pena Pereira Weiss, Ana Cecilia Escalera Rodriguez, and Guilherme Monteiro, engaged with Caribbean ministers and utility leaders through plenaries, bilateral meetings, and workshops. Together, they showcased expertise in non-revenue water management, water resilience, #climate adaptation, utility reform, and financing. Caribbean ministers expressed the need for stronger enabling environments to attract private investment in the water sector, a focus that aligns with PPIAF’s ongoing technical assistance in #Belize and #Jamaica. Committed to supporting Caribbean Small Island Developing States, PPIAF continues to advance institutional reform, capacity building, and resilient infrastructure planning. Many thanks to CWWA’s President Candice Santana and Executive Chairman Laurayne Lucky for hosting us—we look forward to continued collaboration! https://lnkd.in/eCPUAuf4

We had an engaging discussion at the 2024 World Bank-IMF Annual Meetings Knowledge Cafe on Bridging the Gender Divide in Infrastructure! We heard from senior leaders Aisha Williams, Global Director for Infrastructure Finance at the World Bank, Nicolas Peltier, Global Director for Transport at the The World Bank, and Imad N. Fakhoury, South Asia Regional Director at IFC - International Finance Corporation, as they underscored the vital role of infrastructure in addressing gender disparities and highlighted how public-private partnerships can serve as effective tools for driving this change. A key resource in this effort is the Public-Private Partnership Gender Toolkit, developed by the PPIAF-GI Hub in collaboration with the Global Infrastructure Facility and IFC. This toolkit provides practical guidelines to help reduce #gender inequalities among community stakeholders and effectively integrate gender considerations into infrastructure projects.
