About us

Practera is an education technology and services company, connecting the world of work and learning through technology. Our mission is to build the world’s leading system to help educators deliver scalable experiential learning programs. We have offices and staff across six countries and a global technology-led vision. What we do: • Licensing for our world-leading experiential learning platform • Experiential learning design and advisory for our platform • Full-service program delivery by our award-winning Programs team Employers are constantly demanding graduates with more work-ready skills, but Universities struggle to deliver high quality work integrated learning to large numbers of students. Practera helps Universities and corporates deliver excellent experiential programs, cost effectively, at scales of hundreds to thousands of students. Our business model is supported by proprietary technology which we have developed specifically for work integrated learning. Work integrated learning is a rapidly growing $50bn industry within the $1.5T global higher education market. There is opportunity for disruption because existing solutions, such as internships, have high overheads and are hard to scale for both Corporate and University participants. We believe that our smart technology, combined with the right business model, can also help change the economics and outcomes of work integrated learning, creating dramatic growth opportunities for the industry. We are leveraging the same technology capabilities and trends that are driving the adoption of MOOCs, learning analytics and adaptive learning.

Based on the outstanding reports submitted by our student participants, we've uncovered key strategies to elevate report writing! Here’s a simplified flow of the report-writing process based on the resources you provided: 💡 Title & Introduction: Start by clearly defining the topic, purpose, and scope of your report. 💡Research & Structure: Gather relevant data, organize it into sections (e.g., introduction, methodology, results, conclusion). 💡Writing: Begin with a draft; follow the structure while maintaining a logical flow. 💡Editing & Formatting: Review for clarity, grammar, and adherence to formatting guidelines. 💡Conclusion & Recommendations: Summarize findings and suggest future actions. 💡Final Proofread: Check everything before submission. Industry clients provide outstanding feedback on these practices. Follow for more tips! #StudentSuccess #Practera

It was great to be back on the Monash University Caulfield campus this week to deliver this year's Social Impact Hackathon in partnership with Graduate Development at Monash Business School. Over 70 students battled the Melbourne weather to attend this years event and it didn’t disappoint. It was also lovely to see some familiar faces from last years challenge! Karinda Taylor and Daniel Howell from First Peoples' Health and Wellbeing, presented a challenge for student teams to develop a sustainable income stream that aligns with its cultural principles and commitments to support its ongoing work in improving Indigenous health outcomes. Teams rose to the challenge and developed a variety of solutions and engaging pitches for our judging session on Day 2. All teams should be commended for their work, overcoming many challenges - including faulty technology and fire alarm testing - to deliver work that everyone was genuinely proud to present. Our two finalist teams, Enviro Minds and Sprinkle Strategy, were close contenders but Sprinkle Strategy ultimately became this years Social Impact Hackathon winner. Congratulations to Aaron Dino, Pratham Pradeep Rao, Yang Liu, Thi Lan Anh Vu, Nyoman Krisna Wati, Punit Suthar and Prithviraj Rajesh. A very big thank you to Karinda Taylor and Daniel Howell for giving your time so generously over the two days, briefing students, providing feedback and judging the final pitches. Thank you also to our industry judges Jacyl Shaw GAICD and Jake Berthelot and our Monash Academic judges Ralph Kober and Amale Scally. All gave incredible feedback when judging our teams pitches. Thank you to Chris Keynes, Danielle McAuliffe and the rest of the Graduate Development team that made it possible for Monash graduate students to participate in this event! Thank you also for ensuring that the room looked absolutely beautiful to add to the event. Thank you to all the wonderful graduate students who came and gave everything they had for their team! Have you booked a coffee with anyone from the event yet or made plans to catch up? I’d love to hear! #MonashBusiness #MonashUniversity #fphw #socialimpact #futureleaders #healthandwellness #firstpeople #innovation

AI Tinkerers Tinker Out Some Great Applications! What an incredible evening at the AI Tinkerers September Meetup, hosted by BasisTech in Somerville! A huge thank you to Salil Darji for organizing such a fantastic event and to BasisTech for providing a wonderful venue. The night was filled with innovative demos and insightful discussions. Here are some highlights: Alex Alcivar showcased a remarkable natural language search tool for grants, which I found particularly useful. Just yesterday, someone asked me for help finding sustainable product grants, and I was thrilled to share Alex's tool! Shashi Kant left a lasting impression with his video search application that allows users to find specific objects or people at astonishing speed. The use of vector search here is impressive. Aleks Jakulin presented a fascinating project that visualizes AI companies on maps. I’m curious if this technology could also visualize research efforts on specific diseases. I particularly enjoyed Wes Sonnenreich's demonstration how LLMs can assist in writing code, showcasing the potential for enhancing developer productivity. Gabriela Torres introduced an engaging tool for political debates, sparking ideas about its use in training kids for debate competitions. Thank you again to everyone involved for making this event such a success! I’m looking forward to AI Tinkerers' gathering and continuing to explore the exciting world of AI together. #AITinkerers #ArtificialIntelligence #Innovation #Networking
