Last Friday, as part of Australian National Mining Safety Week, Red Earth Engineering heard firsthand about the potentially devastating ripple effects of a momentary lapse in safety—on physical and mental health, family, and community—reinforcing the importance of workplace safety. We had the privilege of hosting Jed Millen, a Workplace Health and Safety Queensland Safety Advocate. Jed shared his powerful story of surviving a workplace incident, and how an accumulation of avoidable mistakes resulted in a serious spinal injury and caused years of physical and emotional pain for him and his family. With 1.6 workplace deaths per week in Queensland and an average of 180 worker fatalities per year across Australia (1.4 per 100,000 workers), as reported by the Australian Institute of Health and Safety, Jed’s message was a sobering reminder that the most important part of our day is getting home safely. His advice? Speak up, follow the rules, and look out for one another—not just physically but mentally as well. A safe workplace means prioritising both the physical and mental well-being of everyone on the team. At Red Earth Engineering, we place great emphasis on workplace health and safety, led expertly by our dedicated HSEQ Manager Kasey Shaw. Our detailed policies, procedures, and guidelines ensure that every team member prioritises the safety of themselves and others, every single day. We’re grateful for Jed’s time and the valuable lessons he shared with our team. #MiningSafetyWeek #WorkplaceSafety #SafetyFirst #RedEarthEngineering #GeosyntecAustralia Red Earth Engineering A Geosyntec Company Geosyntec Consultants Australia Workplace Health and Safety Queensland

Our Red Earth Engineering team recently participated in the #BridgeToBrisbane, organised by our amazing Social Club. We had three teams representing REE, from our serious runners tackling the 10km to our leisurely walkers soaking up the sun on a sunny Sunday in our beautiful city. The event raised over $1,100,000 in total. As a company that values both hard work and play, we were proud to cover half of our participants' entry fees. We firmly believe in supporting our team's wellbeing and promoting an active lifestyle. Great job to everyone involved. #RedEarthEngineering

Selecting the winners of our 2024 photo competition was no easy task, with so many images capturing the essence of our values in action. A huge congratulations to Luis Andres Diaz Amaya, Jake Goldsmith-Healey, and Andres Quijada who not only provide great service but have clear artistic talent, taking home the top three places in the comp. #LoveWhereYouWork #PhotoCompetition #RedEarthEngineering

This year, we're excited to celebrate two significant anniversaries—15 years of Red Earth Engineering and 40 years of Geosyntec! Since joining the Geosyntec family in 2023, Red Earth Engineering has thrived as part of a global community dedicated to providing sustainable and innovative solutions for our clients. To celebrate, our team enjoyed a fantastic day out in Brisbane, packed with fun and competitive team-building challenges, thanks to the Banana Life team.
