We loved working on this 3,000m2 project with many familiar faces on the whole team. Our government client wanted a workspace to meet the modern ways of working for the department. Key challenges revolved around some unexpected latent conditions in the building - but we brought an extremely collaborative approach, working closely with the client and our delivery partners together to deliver an exceptional workspace on time, and on budget. Go Wenzi!   One of our Cadets, Wenzi Lieu, recently volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and UTS to help build homes for families in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. During her one-week trip, Wenzi and her team dedicated five days to construction, working in groups to build three houses.   The team tackled tasks like constructing timber staircases, laying bricks for the ground floor, and backfilling—often without power tools. Wenzi shared a memorable moment of mixing mortar manually on the side of the road instead of using a cement mixer.   “It was incredibly rewarding to make a tangible impact in Cambodia, helping families achieve homeownership and providing them with safe and practical living spaces.”

We love delivering workspaces for a repeat client. This time, our client wanted to reposition and uplift a large workspace to meet the future ways of working for the department and its people. This complex project consisted of 16,000m2 over 8 levels of Parramatta Square, with multiple staged handovers – so it was right in our sweet spot. The public-sector client appreciated our transparency on programme, working around approval delays, meeting deadlines and regular updates for their team as we worked around live environments to deliver an exceptional workspace. We delivered on budget, on program and to the high level we and our clients expect. Thanks to the client for trusting us with this project, and all the delivery partners we couldn’t have succeeded without. The next generation! Last week we welcomed St Mary's Cathedral College (SMCC) Year 11 (Year 12 2025) students to our site for an engaging visit of their future campus at William St. 🚧✨ On behalf of Sydney Catholic Schools, Renascent are undertaking a material change-of-use Commercial to Education redevelopment of the historically significant building at 52-58 William Street, which includes significant internal remodelling, full services replacement, heritage façade upgrades, and new landscaped structures to provide external learning spaces. The day began with an informative presentation by Tom and Dom, a former SMCC Alumni, about the project, followed by an insightful site tour. Students walked through multiple levels with varying aspects of the project stages, gaining insights into the construction process and the diverse career opportunities available in construction. It’s always rewarding to see students eager to learn and explore future possibilities within the industry! Thank you to SMCC and everyone who made this visit a success. Our RAP committee member, Adrian Raath, had the honour of presenting awards on stage, while the rest of our team spread joy by handing out ice cream vouchers to the children. Congratulations to all the incredibly talented art competition winners. Thank you to Indigo Junction for hosting the event and for giving us the opportunity to be a part of the NAIDOC celebrations.
