We are thrilled to announce that the Rip Curl Mirage3DP Boardshort, developed in collaboration with Moon Creative Lab and Bilio, has won the 2024 ISPO Award. The ISPO award recognises outstanding achievement and industry leading innovation within the sporting goods industry. As an industry first to integrate Variloom 3D printed textiles into surf apparel, the collaboration to develop the Mirage3DP Boardshort showcases leadership and innovation in product design, material engineering, and product circularity. Last week our Rip Curl crew celebrated NAIDOC week by coming together at our head office, on Wadawurrung Country, to hear from Shasta O’Loughlin our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Working Group Chair, about the steps we have taken to complete our Reflect RAP and the exciting journey ahead as we embark on our Innovate RAP planning. We were then taken on a discovery session led by Marsha and Nick Uppill from Arranyinha who gave a First Nations perspective on the importance of Country, identity, and place of belonging. The flagship store will offer an extensive range of Rip Curl wetsuits and apparel, market-leading surfboards and surf hardware, beach essentials and park merchandise. The product assortment will also celebrate local Perth and Western Australian shapers and brands, in keeping with our vision to create a surf park that is by the West, for the West. Together, we’ll deliver unique events including surfing competitions, community activations, and demo days, develop recycled and sustainable products to help minimise our environmental impact, and support WA surfers, grassroots organisations, and charities. Opening in late 2026, the Perth Surf Park will feature a 56-module Wavegarden Cove offering perfect waves for all abilities, high-performance training facilities, and major sporting and cultural events – along with quality leisure, hospitality, and retail amenities.
